Company of Heroes Vs Close Combat

Are you talking about the bridge too far campaign in CC? Really enjoyed that game.

I loved the first two CC series. Mostly the Bridge too Far which was a blast. Trying to figure out how to cover open ground or defeat panzers with paratroops. Good times.
And yes, CC was a very detailed, tactical experience. When you get the hang off it, you can usually win since the computer isn’t as good as flanking or covering.

If you like WW2 sims, I think CC should be tried.

CC2 was Bridge Too Far, yes.

One of the interesting things about the series was that each soldier’s emotional state was modeled. They could panic under fire, turn coward, and occasionally go berzerk.

“Get up you cowering bastards! I need you to charge that machine gun!”

Some iterations really lent themselves to identifying with individual soldiers. So you’d really miss that ninja sniper when he got run over by a tank, or your kickass mortar squad died to the last man when you had to use them as decoys until your reinforcements showed up.

I’ve still got a kajillion interations of all the RealRed & RealGreen mods stashed away on my computer somewhere.
