Yea he literally broke the camera. So they’re saying since there’s no specific protocol a cop can just destroy anything they want and there’s no repercussions? Basically, they’re “above the law”? I mean - how far does that extend?

It extends to murdering people, so pretty far.

Most courts literally interpret this VERY GENEROUSLY for law enforcement. I.e. immunity from any act unless a court has previously ruled that this exact act is unlawful. So the first specific crime of any sort in any jurisdiction is always a freebie.

I’m guessing a court has ruled on destroying private property for no reason, but it wont matter.
As we’ve seen you can literally fire your gun at children, hit them and nothing will happen.

Hey now. He was EIGHTEEN inches away from that kid, shoulda gotten out of the way of his lawfully fired, qualified immunibullet of freedom.

Cartman with a gun.

In response to the shooting of her child, Amy Corbitt filed a $2,000,000 suit for special and compensatory damages. Vickers countered with a motion to dismiss, which argued “that [Vickers] was entitled to qualified immunity because case law had not staked out a ‘bright line’ indicating that the act of firing at the dog and unintentionally shooting SDC was unlawful.”

The security guards at the IRS office I work in are all rent a cops. They do carry weapons but I wouldn’t trust them to use them or to make good judgements. There was a fight on site last week (a manager and employee) and city cops were called in to handle it.

Remember this guy? Got to take care of your own.

Of course your government is now sanctioning the murder of blacks. How long until the GOP introduce death camps?

Don’t you have anything in your constitution to help when your government starts murdering its citizens? Something to do with firearms?

Only for certain people.

I don’t think that’s true anymore. They would simply use it as justification to murder way more black people with impunity because of “increased threat”. Stand your ground would turn into whoever shoots first wins ie is innocent etc.

Unless they’re a minority. If the minority shoots first, they will be considered a murderer. There is zero chance a number of minorities will be able to shoot first and be fine later in current or future scenarios.

Absolutely true.

Remember police dogs are police officers. Unless a cop does something to them, then it’s whatever.
If this had been a civilian it would be a felony murder charge.

24 years already spent in prison for murder…

The men actually responsible for killing Boyd in a botched robbery […] confessed as early as 1996 and 2002, saying in sworn affidavits that Johnson was not involved. Johnson continued to languish in prison anyway.

“I know Lamar Johnson is innocent of that crime because I was there and Lamar Johnson was not there,” the confessed shooter, James Howard, stated 17 years ago.

Everyone involved in this should spend the rest of their lives in prison. I’m sure nothing will happen to them though. Fucking insane.

He’s not even the only Lamar Johnson to spend years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit.

Cops get brownie points for getting convictions, not for clearing people.
