“This child was wandering around barefoot after we beat their mother,” doesn’t sell as well.
This is practically tying a woman to the railroad tracks type of malice.
I hope that 20-year old woman will survive but my screen cap of the car looks horrific (I presume it’s in a ditch). I can only imagine the shouting and screaming of the girl in the car to get the attention of the cops as the train approached.

I’m usually one to really jump on the cops, and especially Sherriffs for shoot first and ask questions later behavior, but this may not be quite as cut and dried as the tweet says - from the linked article:
Deputies also revealed that Savannah Graziano, the 15-year-old girl at the center of Monday’s Amber Alert was also fatally shot during Tuesday’s shootout, where she was allegedly wearing tactical gear. They reported that she charged at the deputies in the middle of the firefight, and that she was possibly firing at them with her father.
Now, maybe she was actually kidnapped by her dad in the custody dispute (where dad killed the mom, apparently), but if she was dressed up in tactical gear during a running firefight, there could easily be a lot more to this story.

Honestly I can see cops shooting someone rushing at them in tactical gear as not really a crazy or unreasonable reaction.

I can see cops shooting a guy eating a bagel. Good reasons, bad reasons, I can always imagine cops shooting wildly at someone.

I can imagine cops lying out of their teeth that a girl charged them wearing tactical gear too. I don’t believe anything the cops say about the incident unless it’s proven on video.
