They’re completely different cheeses!
Also if you haven’t tried real greek sheep’s milk feta, it’s very different than the crap you find in American grocery stores. It’s creamy.

When I lived in Bensonhurst we had a deli nearby that had feta in bulk, in the liquid. This was the cheese that you just purchased what you would eat within 24 hours. That stuff was amazing. Like you said creamy. Not at all dry and crumbly. And they had real black bread. Not sliced. Rip off a hunk of the bread and eat it with the feta and various pickles.
I miss New York. ::sigh::
I always hit up Titan Foods whenever I’m in Astoria. Sooo good.

Looks amazing. Why do you hate me? :P
Hey, you can probably get great Cuban food. And better fish. So there’s that.
Titan Foods has a whole feta section, like 15 different types. 10 kinds of grape leaves. Amazing.
Also a great prepared food section, so you can pick up a moussaka to go, or some halvah (very different from Jewish/slavic halvah, made from semolina flour).
There’s a Greek orthodox church near me and every year they have a food festival. Most of it is straight from Titan Foods, they even use their shopping bags.

You would think. But the best fish here is ridiculously expensive. I haven’t had a decent tuna steak in a while. The water here is too warm or something. It has to be brought down from the north. As far as other fish? It depends.
And the really good Cuban food is further south. Although you can get a kickass Cuban sandwich locally.
Well, at least you’ve got something. I’ve only been to south Florida, basically.
Hey, you’re the one that decided to move there! Nice in the winter, anyways.

No. My mother decided to move here. So that both of her sons would be closer. That, by the way, turned into to a clusterfuck.
But I don’t have to shovel snow at three in the morning.
See above gif for more details. :)
There’s that silver lining!

Two days until my FREEDOM day. 8)
Edit: I’m gonna walk outside without a mask and kiss everyone I meet. And then I will spend time in jail. With a mask on…

My shot #2 absolutely wrecked me for 2 days. Fever broke last night and feeling good, if a bit tired. Looking forward to rejoining the world.

Freedom day is here! Time to go around licking doorknobs. :)
Had my 2nd Sinovac 2 days ago. Feel very slightly grotty today; had a bit of a sore arm both times.
Wife is totally fine.
At least here you have to wear a mask most places and if you avoid the kampungs there is at least some social distancing.
That’s one thing I envy people living in the US; good quesadillas.
I had my first in some little restaurant in San Diego in 1998. I enjoyed it so much I went to the kitchen and thanked the chef. We went back the next night and I got a double portion - result!
Sadly we don’t really get them in NZ or Indonesia, at least that I know of. And the few I’ve had haven’t been worthy of the name.
First stab coming up on June 10th! Finally!
