Very sorry to hear about your sister, and happy you’re OK!

Since you’re immunocompromised get the booster once it’s valid to do so, I believe 2 weeks after you’re certified COVID-free. I’m sure the docs told you the same thing.

Glad you’ve pulled through, sorry about your sister.

I am so sorry you went through such hell, and lost your sister as well. I have no tolerance nor patience for those who go unvaccinated.

Holy hell @rshetts that is a scary story. Glad you pulled out ok.

Yep, get vaccinated. Side effects are great, my cock is now longer than my legs and prehensile like an elephant’s nose. I keep it coiled around my neck like those star wars aliens that only nerds can name when I’m not walking around like a tripedal spider. My balance is incredible.

They’re Twi’lek and you know that @stusser.

Nerd!!!

Yes they did. I will be seeing my doctor on the 20th and she will set me up for the booster.

Hey, Jpinard. I hope you stay free and clear of covid, its some seriously scary shit. The best advice I can give you is, if you start showing serious symptoms do everything you can to avoid the ER and get your physician to get you admitted directly. You don’t want any part of an ER in this day and age. And pay attention to how you feel. This stuff can go from zero to 60 awfully fast.

I’m not immunocompromised and my plan is to get monoclonal antibodies immediately upon showing symptoms, if I’m unlucky and get a breakthrough infection.

How do you plan on doing that? Just asking your Dr. for them and hope they have access to them?

Sure, they’re widely available now but you do need to ask. The trick is they only work if you take them early on. If you’re doing poorly, it’s too late.

Maybe not for long, unfortunately:

That’s terrifying story, and I’m glad to hear you pulled through.

Ahh, I was going by 2 month old information. Thanks for the pointer.

Well, I’ll get them if they’re available, anyway.

Yeah, just saw that earlier today so it immediately jumped to mind when you mention it. Here’s hoping it’s a resolvable shortfall, although the obvious solution would be “no vaccine, no antibodies.”

Absolutely not, I would give it to the unvaccinated first. Got to be about saving lives. For me to get the antibodies, it may save me from a week of a pretty bad cold and potentially long COVID. For someone unvaccinated, it could be their life.

I mean yeah, fuck the unvaccinated. Bunch of dangerous assholes. But not fuck them to death.

Whenever I see phrases like this, I can’t help having this run though my head.

My Mom and I both tested negative. But her surgery had to get delayed by weeks.

Glad to hear it JP. Well, not about the delay… :)
