God damn it.

I suppose wrestlers might have to contend with fart particulates. They get … pretty close there, sometimes.

Panic is a very easy thing to stoke and spread. It can start with people creating or adjust their own facts, taking in information from unofficial sources and relaying them in a manner which confuses or overshadows the actual facts.

Panic can be stoked by lack of resources, when people think, suddenly, they can’t get what they need and suddenly we start running out of mundane things like rice, TP, and hand-sanitizes.

Panic can get deeply rooted in the heart and soul of a person if they believe they are alone, if no one cares, or even worse, others are working against them.

It helps no one, no one to panic.

Not panicking doesn’t mean you aren’t afraid or worried, of course I am. It doesn’t mean you believe all the information is out there; we know it isn’t, and it doesn’t mean perfect.

Panic helps no one.

So let’s not try to shortcut the data, or accuse other people of not caring, or blame others for something they didn’t do.

Step away if it’s too much, that’s okay. Talk to your loved ones if you need to, pray if that help you, help where you can, do what you can but do not panic and try to not add to the problem.

People care. People are trying. You’re not alone.

If that fails, make fart jokes with some friends to alleviate the tension. I’m going to go enjoy our new State of Emergency now.

I take full credit for this. :D

The individual is predisposed for pneumonia due to an underlying heart condition, his wife said.

We can only hope their efforts work for him, and this makes him part of the higher risk category.

Jesus people are not taking things seriously here in Spain, and the weak measures done by the government doesn’t help. Meanwhile, looking at the numbers, we almost doubled the infected number in 24 hours. We more than triplied the daily new cases.

I am so grateful to myself for keeping my heart/lungs a healthy. Bike commuting for 15 years, sprints, weights, vegetables, no smoking… it’s all going to pay off now with advantage on my saving throw vs this plague.

My mom just reminded me all my siblings except me have asthma. Fuck.

If you’re spraying ‘nose goop’ into the air in serious quantities when you breathe, enough quantities that it is remotely possible for someone not lying underneath you face to face to breathe that ‘nose goop’ in, see a doctor!

My friend and his wife were at a “large resort featuring a mouse” in Florida. They’re late 30s. Starting feeling terrible after 4 days there, fevers and all, and were given masks and asked to leave, so they flew back home to the Rockies.

They called their doctor who told them to just self-quarantine until they feel better, but the guy is now anxious because they’re both feeling much worse, and the fever is also now worse.

Talk about a sucky vacation.

He explains that he means we have to be thoughtful and (my words) holistic in our approach. Yes, kids are really bad at spreading this around, so we want to close schools. But closing schools mean nurses and others might have to stay home with children and not be at the hospital treating patients. He’s saying that closing schools sounds like a great idea but it has repercussions that we really need to think through. He also mentions we need to get past thinking about the next few days, this thing could be around for months so how long are we prepared to keep schools and public places closed?

And lots of people use schools as their daycare. If kids are at home all day, someone has to stay at home and watch them. Which is easy if you don’t have a job that will fire you, or you can afford to miss the income.

So, yeah, economic chaos.

So, that was posted four days ago. The current number in Denmark seems to be 264 cases, 172 new cases in a day. Do you still think it was an overreaction, or does it now seem like it was too little too late?

Did I miss a memo about not being able to say “Disney World”?

The downsides of closing schools could be addressed if we took it seriously enough. in addition to covering the kids for medical workers and others I think we should pay for medical workers to afford private transportation rather than having to take the subway to work.

Yeah, exactly, this is the kind of thing he was talking about. Not that closing schools is a bad call per se, but that we need to think through what that means, especially long-term.

REPORTED ;)

Rockies? Denver? Also that’s shit that they won’t test people in this scenario.
