Sure, but if the reasons are right, argue the reasons, not their clarity. Their clarity is incidental.

About freaking time:

Will Disney World follow suit, or wait until the FL government starts shutting things down? (Which is probably never.)

It was about a week ago when it was discovered that he had it. I imagine they’ve taken plenty of precautions since.

Is this an indication of a shortage of tests?

It’s because the GOP has switched from a strategy of containment to one of mitigation. Not of the virus of course, but of the blame. Part of that strategy is to make sure that anything that might cause democrats to be given credit for anything positive must be shut down before it spreads.

How do quarantined Senators vote?

Against anything democratic, just like always

Hard to imagine even FL would want people flying from all across the country and world into their state with the potential of getting their older residents sick. It’s just what needs to be done.

One more day like this and Trump will have lost every single point he has gained in the stock market during his presidency

No - I’m criticizing a strategy chosen by the UK which differs markedly from the science-driven strategies chosen by every other country in Europe.

As Scott said earlier - something can sound reasonable, and still be completely wrong. And in this case, I disagree that it even sounds reasonable. All the evidence that we have suggests that the UK approach (do nothing) leads to healthcare chaos and large numbers of dead people. And all the evidence we’ve seen so far - and every scientific expert I’ve read - suggests that lockdowns help to slow down and contain the spread. Does that mean that lockdowns is 100% certain to be the right strategy? Absolutely not - but when if 19 scientists say one thing, and one scientist disagrees, then the scientific conclusion is to assume that the sole scientist is wrong, unless he has solid proof to back up his assertions.

Slovenia and France have just announced the closing of schools all across the country, following the lead of most other European countries. I suspect Germany (which already has some closures) and the rest of Europe will follow by the end of this week.

My wife (actually everybody) has been banned from visiting anyone in a convalescent hospital. She is now afraid he will die before she sees him again as he has been given a short time to live. She is not taking it well.

Your only reason for they are wrong and you are right is because others are doing it differently but we are also using scientific knowlege as well you know, and that is why it will never work, because everyone else always knows better, you, him them, another country etc etc.

The world is full of keyboard experts these days, quick to pooh pooh and disregard.

No offense you have given your reason and so have 2 experts and I’m having a hard time agreeing with you over them.

Thanks for sharing this, holy shit this got a big laugh from me.

So did this!

Colorado has one drive-up testing station open from 10-2.

This is what it looked like today:

Huh, I did not know this. It turns out that CA’s “ban” on public events was actually more of a guideline:

"Newsom said that he does not expect the need to enforce the new recommendations.

“Its legal authority is limited from an enforcement perspective, but I have all the expectation that it will be advanced and will be adopted,” he said at the presser."

Let’s hope he’s right.

I think it’s more about not wasting time for a test return to consider someone a case and go through the protocol. China did the same when cases jumped 14k in one day.

At wegmans right now and the root vegetables are competely sold out. All the bread is gone, except Cinnamom Raisin bread which is fully stocked lol

People who like fruitcake will never go hungry, that much is certain
