I just went there and in initial load it had the 91,773 number, but quickly refreshed to 137,066.

it’s probably got a bigger server load than Netflix.

This is simply untrue. The real life success stories have contained the virus with only a tiny proportion of the population being infected. The measures cannot and will not be maintained indefinately.
The nudge theory is a peripheral thing about how to achieve the desired goal. UK policy is not being driven by “nudge theory”.
I agree it would be good for the UK scientific advisors to publish their numbers.
With those Danish numbers, what’s the actual long term plan? When do the special measures end? What happens then?
I think the ideal scenario is if there is a sutainable set of measures that can keep R down for an extended period. But anything that involves closing schools isn’t particularly sustainable.
And the Masters is officially postponed. They hope they can do it later in the year.
I can’t image any of those events/sports leagues resuming later this year, but could you imagine if they all happened at the same time?

Postponed is the word these groups use so they don’t have to refund you your money…yet. There’s no way all these postponed events will actually happen in the fourth quarter - there are already events scheduled at those venues.

When you live soo deep into a world of “who know who” so much, where talent or expertise don’t matter, but who you your friends. Disgusting.
Hey guyz it’s the black guy’s fault!
That seems like it won’t be an issue. It isn’t like indoor arenas are in heavy use in the summer and fall, for NBA/NHL play.
Most soccer fields in the UK are single-use facilities. They can schedule around Coldplay concerts or whatever. Ditto for MLB now.
And The Masters is The Masters. When they decide to play it at Augusta, some crappy third-tier PGA tour stop will suffer, but that’s life.
And the Boston Marathon is now on for September (it’s normally April).
I posted the figure for that exact model upthread yesterday.
Yep.
I like the added context that the long-term model as it stretches weeks and months away is based on continuing behavior continuing and doesn’t account for changes in behavior/procedure in public life.

I don’t think it was mentioned before but…
It was posted by our European friends (aka, the late shift.)
Could you explain the Danish plan in a bit more detail? If it’s planning on spreading the concurrent infections out over a longer period than 8 months (I’d expect 16, given winter will be another strain on things), does this mean serious containment measures will be in place for over a year?
Slowly suffocating over the course of 17 days isn’t a fate I’d wish on anyone. Some old economic machinery shouldn’t even be part of the consideration. A government’s job is to protect its people.
So, President Mike Pence in the future?
