I understand this. I’ll take on the mantle of the Bad Guy here, though. I hope he dies, both because he deserves it for what he has done and also because the sooner we can get him out of the way, the fewer Americans are going to suffer.
That sounds awful. Maybe it is. But it is the way I feel.

Thanks for posting this.
It really hit home on how fast China transformed themselves. His description of how early on, so much infection was spreading within the hospital and how fast the chinese responded and changed everything is something I’m not confident our country can do. We have no central authority and instead we are relying on backchannels between experts to exchange information.
In one example, they emptied out 5 hospitals and made them dedicated SARS hospitals, and complete infection control. Can you even fathom anything like this happening here?
No, what you hear is the state of washington making a deal with a hotel.
And the city the motel is located sued to try to stop it.
China did those things literally overnight.

China also mobilized medical staff from the entire country to the hardest hitting regions. No way you’re gonna get people from say, Kentucky to go help in California.

Serious question: Even if Trump or Pence or any other WH official tests positive, do you really think they’d openly report it? I think they’d hide it until it was leaked. I mean look at his past record on sharing ANY honest medical history.

I consider it a non-trivial chance Trump will eventually lie incapacitated (physically, that is…) while Princess Ivanka passes “his orders” from the bedroom.
*If the Trumps get out of power they are scared they will be prosecuted for alllllllll the shitty things they have been doing. They are not letting go.
No way, the WH spokesman would just say something like ‘the president is resting with a mild case of the flu. He is feeling great and can’t wait to get back to work. MAGA!!’.

No way, the spokesperson will say, “The President has sequestered himself in a lab so that he can work on a test for the virus, because he is disgusted with how few tests are being administered! Also, anyone who wants a test can get tested. This will all go away. Stay calm.”
This administration lies about everything, I’m sure if Trump or Pence or anyone else high in the admin gets it they’ll just lie to cover it up. They wouldn’t want to break their aura of invincibility and perfection.
Word is he is going to declare a national emergency.
Now if he would only declare HIMSELF as a national emergency.

San Diego Unified school district just announced schools closed for 3 weeks starting next week. This includes spring break, but I’m willing to bet camps I was relying on for childcare during spring break will close too.
