Instead, it’s been RNA extraction reagents. While there are many ways to do this, only one kit made by Qiagen has been approved for clinical labs, and there’s been a shortage of those kits. China and Korea purchased all the available stock when the epidemic hit them.

Is this something that can be solved in a few weeks? Is there any point to having more tests available in a few weeks?

As a pretty cool thing, one of our molecular biologists has modified the existing kit to change it from a qualitative assay (IE: +/- for corona) to one that can accurately measure levels.

He is suppose to speak any minute now. I swear he is determined to fuck the economy and the market. Why the dumbshit couldn’t have waited until after the market closed in 40 minutes from now is complete mystery. That would give the administration the entire weekend to clean up the inevitable mess he’ll make and let the markets close the week with decent rally
