Fuck codeine. I vote for Laudenum.
New York passed an emergency provision 3/13/2020 allowing medicaid to pay for telephone visits $12 for 5-10 min, $23 for 11-20 mins. Medicare has no televisit coverage unless you are in certain shortage areas AFAIK.

Canada is closing its borders (to non-Canadians or residents)

If you show symptoms you’re not getting into Canada. It doesn’t matter if you’re Canadian or not.

Is that a first? Most countries I’ve seen are still allowing citizens back in regardless. How does that work, if the country where you have citizenship refuses you entry?? The CBC website says entry is refused for non-citizens or residents.
EDIT: Although further in the article it says:

Nope. New Zealand did it last week as well.
In related news, I queried my travel insurance provider about making a claim for my New Zealand flights since the required quarantine period exceeds my travel duration, because quarantine is listed as a covered condition. Answer: nope, not covered unless I actually travel there and am quarantined.

Maybe try your credit card company, if you paid for it through them? They sometimes offer travel protections above and beyond what you normally get.
Hehe, now he got me too! Aaargh!

The article I am looking at says US citizens are “at this time” exempt. Kind if weird to say “all” and them exclude the largest category.

Thanks, I’ll try that. I also purchased cancel-for-any-reason coverage, so at worst I can get reimbursed for 75% of my ticket costs, but this kind of cost “sharing” is common. Childcare I’ve paid that is now closed down won’t get reimbursed. Concert tickets for cancelled shows aren’t going to get reimbursed. Some of that stuff will give me some kind of future credit, but who knows what that’s worth, and not everything will.

Oh gee. It’s almost as if they had no strategy, tried to sell that as strategy, and now are trying to backpedal. Quelle surprise.

Yeah I don’t understand. Basically the two countries are so integrated that you can’t stop it. I would be happy if every one was banned except those responsible for transporting goods.
Supposedly we can get vouchers for our flights to and from Tennessee this week but we can’t get through to the booking agency. Spent hours on hold yesterday without getting through. Also sent a ticket asking for a callback with no response
Wow, Boris has just thrown the entire UK under a bus to protect the insurance industry. This is going to hurt.
Never understood the 7-day thing. It’s been clear for a long time that symptoms have a 2-14 day lag, which is why everyone else recommends 14-day isolation in all cases.

Have you been reading the news lately? Many other countries have already acknowledged that this is beyond containment. It’s all about mitigation no. It’s why they’ve been implementing all the stuff already that Boris is now backpedaling to.

Foolish child. It’s not about backpedaling. It’s about timing.
Is that why its “avoid” rather than following suite with the entire fucking planet? Legal wording to avoid contractual clauses? Figures.
They should be offering 2/3rd wages for the entire hospitality industry like in Germany, perhaps capped, and financial support for the industry.
and again the arrogance from the Tories and their supporters that EVERYONE ELSE is wrong, and they are right. That’s 4 years of Brexit propaganda for you.
CDC advice is this.
UK advice is “100,000 people can meet up if they want but it wont be insured because we wont allow emergency services to attend” followed no doubt by some smartarse comment about Vallance’s qualifications means we arent allowed to listen to CDC recommendations,
