I wiped my packages down with a bleached cloth, immediately disposed of packaging, wiped down the item packaging and left in sun to dry.

I then went out met a Chinese couple we know in a car park and bought some snacks out of the trunk of their car and ate a lunch of dried/fermented shrimp paste in glutinous rice wrapped in a leaf and im certain the risk reward balance tipped in its favour.

Switzerland today:

• Restaurants and bars closed.
• All stores except grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations closed.
• All public and private events of any size are forbidden.
• Border control established with all neighboring countries.
• School closures extended further out.

The stores were stripped totally bare a bit before noon. Even the toilet paper hoarding which we’d so far avoided was in full swing.

My sister in France is now in self-quarantine, after having lunch with her boss who was soon after diagnosed with Covid. I’m really worried; she’s got some chronic respiratory issues, so she might be at high risk despite her age. And the French health care system is obviously about to be overrun.

Switzerland has the second worse infection per capita ratio as of now, so it’s really no wonder they are taking measures. What’s the testing regime there?

Wow, the Dow down just shy of 3,000 points today which is near 13%. I wouldn’t even be able to wrap my head around that if we weren’t already bludgeoned with 2,000 point drops last week.

A friend of mine who works in nuclear power generation has been told he’ll now be working in shifts. He’ll get 7 days on and then 7 days off, the rub being that on his off time he cannot return home. He needs to sleep in a secure area near the plant.

This may be the new reality for critical infrastructure folks.
