Yes a tw#t of the highest order.
That’s a really clever way to type “twatwaffle,” kudos.
Hydroxychloroquine, a less toxic derivative of chloroquine, is effective in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro

Magic words there are “in vitro”. There’s a billion things that kill cancer in vitro. Hopefully this is one of those things that translates to in vivo.

Anyone who gets on a plane or train willingly right now is an idiot.

Because they need prescriptions and home care. The hospital here needed a 5 day lead time because insurance companies are demanding pre authorizations for everything. I hear every single day how 20% of my therapists time is wasted fighting with insurance. Think about how many more patients they could care for per year, and how much money that would save, if they didn’t have to do that.

Aren’t there exceptions? I die a little slower on the train to Birmingham.
Also - as one of the nurses here in Norway wrote in an opinion column - all of the support personnel that makes running health services possible, who tend to be overlooked: janitors, cleaners, drivers, etc. These are jobs that native Norwegians don’t want to do since these are minimal pay jobs with very uncomfortable hours, so they’re almost exclusively staffed by immigrants from the poorest countries - many of whom have fled from conflicts and war - and now are on the front lines of another war. Their services will be more critical than ever now to hinder the spread of the infection and bacteria in hospitals and nursing homes, but most people will only think doctors and nurses, when they think of healthcare workers.
Sometimes I really miss the ability to give a  here.
Ramping up testing is key to starting to isolate people, AND (once we can test enough people) find people that are presymptomatic and get those people aware from the rest of us. It would be great if we could get a better estimate on asymptomatic individuals as well, as that number has been estimated from 2-60+% of individuals, and that has a huge impact on what our best next step(s) are.
If a train was travelling south at 50 mph, and a plane was traveling north at 250 mph, and the two vehicles were 3000 miles apart, how long would it take for everyone on board to contract COVID-19?
You know, I could temporarily put up with Trump’s voice if he didn’t intersperse the actual info in his statements with self-congratulatory asides every couple of sentences.
What’s just as bad is the information content of his sentences is incredibly low. He puts in so many random modifiers, and repeats the same ideas so many times that you need to exercise a ton of patience to extract meaning from his babbling.
That said, this is the first time I can remember where Republicans and Democrats seem to be agreeing on a scientific issue. I’m sure that’ll go away once we get past this, so we can avoid thinking about climate change.
I always have to turn him off - can’t stand to hear that porcine prick.
I watched the first 2 Trump things, I can’t do anymore. Gonna let a reporter do it and TL;DW it. Just thinking about Trump and Miller and Miller’s wife and those scum pisses me off.

I actually think this is incredibly frightening regarding climate change. It has only confirmed that a large chunk of Americans, and the entire Republican party, will only act when bodies have already started piling up. They had warning about Coronavirus too. It was just a “hoax”, remember?
And the problem with climate change is when the bodies start piling up, it is too late to fix it.
“Almost immediately” = probably at least 1-2 months.
If you wait until Trump is done, the next person talking has a brain. I don’t think you’ll learn anything new compared to this thread, but I’m glad at least there’s a scientist on staff.
