Well, in this case the arguments I mentioned were with neighbors / people I know, not anyone at the company. Although they too clearly don’t grasp what kind of crisis we’re facing.

Russian Roulette is fairly safe. 83% of the time nothing happens.
No big deal, man.

Right?! It’s like… you keep saying that, but are you processing what you’re saying? They’re somehow not.

I see. That wasn’t clear to me. In that case I would agree, it is certainly a fairly common coping response.

That’s because I am a shitty communicator and tend to structure my posts poorly. :D

Also, sorry for spamming the thread with the Travails of Kevin in the Land of Idiots but I had to get some of that shit off my chest.

Not an issue man. Vent away. We love you.

Don’t be sorry man! If you’re anything like me you are in isolation at home during a once in a generation, society altering event and craving more human contact. Keep the stories coming!

Few people really comprehend the implications of percentages. They seem to think an 80% chance means “can’t possibly happen to them”. Obviously we as a gaming forum take this more seriously having the experience of missing so many important 95% hit chance shots in Xcom.

Everyone needs to vent. Better to people on the internet than punching your neighbor in the face.

Unless… is your neighbor Rand Paul?

Yeah XCOM players are like: “80%? Fuck, I can’t count on that shit at all.”

No, but Chris Stewart is somewhere in my district. I’d happily knock the shit out of him if I ever ran into him.

It didn’t save that poor trooper, but maybe it saved us :)

Not sure if I read it here, but I really like the M&M analogy.

Here’s a cup of 100 M& M’s. 80 will make you feel something between a cold and the worst flu of your life. 10-15 will put you in the hospital for weeks before recovery, with possibly decreased lung function. 1-5 will kill you. If you eat any of them all your friends and family will be forced to eat randomly from their own similar cup of 100. Still want a bite?

“In my business, we shake hands…hands…hands…hands.”

Horseshoes and hand grenades.

Can be simplified to a single D20 roll?

Tailor as needed to the target audience. I assumed anyone with d20 experience wouldn’t need much social distancing encouragement :p

Things in France are about to get very rough, I think, their number of serious and critical cases is really high compared to their reported cases and deaths.

Save or die is such an outdated 2e mechanic…
