Lucky for Rand Paul, he has access to government-provided healthcare, unless the rest of us.

That’s what I call a rugged individual!

And he served 30 days in jail for it.

Then prosecutors appealed that the sentence was too light, now the Supreme Court may send him back for a longer sentence.

I know for a fact there are CEO’s that think this is all overblown, if the CDC starts recommending going to work while local Governors still say stay closed I can see them trying to reopen business and trying to bring it to the courts.

I think in a week the reality of the situation will have sunk in a little. If it hasn’t, the CEO’s maybe need a more blunt force trauma way of having it sink in.

The good news about Trump’s insanity if he’s really doing that is that the situation will be SO much worse 7 days from now. I don’t see him being able to successfully do it.

Something else we have learned is that forcing politicians to instate a UBI would require 2 weeks of general strike. 3 weeks if they are specially stubborn.

(I am not in favor or against a UBI)

Just tweeting that he might ease the social distancing order in seven days is bad enough. It encourage bosses who are dragging their feet on social distancing to keep doing so. If they made it this far and it’ll start getting better in a week, why risk slowing down now?

Plouffe knows what’s up yo

Utah asks Florida to hold its apple cider.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Completely going against guidelines from the church as well.

Jesus take the wheel?

Jesus needs to get some brass knuckles and start Rand Pauling the fuck out of these people.

Joseph Smith take the handcart

Governor Wolf was ahead of every other state on this IMO. I don’t think he’s going to be making decisions based on Trump.

Social distancing is not sustainable long term in our society. If everyone is on the same page, and the federal government can coordinate with states to enact strict measures for a limited period of time to lower the curve, that is about the best we can really hope for. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’ve even gotten close to that happening. With the momentum behind the social distancing movement, there needs to be a clear and coordinated plan put in place NOW to enforce isolation across the country and stop the spread as best we can for a few more weeks. Any longer than a few more weeks I don’t see how we can keep going with this plan without the economy getting truly fucked or people losing their minds. There’s probably a point coming in the near future where we will have to accept that we can’t control this at all and allow it to play out naturally.

But I don’t see it working. He says and I quote “It’s the states responsibility to staff these”

Where are they going to get all the nurses to care for these patients that aren’t already working at hospital?

The Army Corps of Engineers isn’t going to staff hospitals.

If they get 'em set up, that’s the first point. We’ll get them staffed in some manner, even if it means active duty military staffing them.

They’re already talking about calling for retired nurses and providers to come back and help and waiving their certifications. Also, using EMTs and the like. Any port in a storm.

Yes. And/or we’ll accelerate nursing and medical school graduations, only teaching them what they need to know for these cases and set those people up under the direction of experienced people. And/or we’ll recall a ton of retired doctors and nurses. We just need to make it through the peak, assuming people help keep the peak low.

I heard an interview with a MD/ PhD who had been doing rounds before this. Turns out, all the schools have pulled the trainees, because they don’t contribute much, but are bodies that use PPE.
