They really should put up some handwashing stations in public places. I know it’s a pain but they started doing it at county fairs… for a reason (mostly due to petting zoos). And we manage to put out cooling stations around here too when it’s super hot and there’s a public event. I know these things exist.
We went to the grocery over the weekend. There was some panic-buying evidence - hand sanitizer, bottled water (including distilled), rice, and noodles were wiped out, though there was still lots of TP, so I guess were one up on Australia in that regard - plenty of hand soap to be had, though!
Anyway, when we were checking out, the cashier told us they had to post someone by the door because people were hoarding the free sanitary wipes at the entrance.
The free hand wipes at Chick-fil-a are now behind the counter. :(
But if you ask, they will give you 2.
The case on Bainbridge Island was a person who frequents our senior center…where my son volunteers. We are talking with the health department now on whether or not there was an overlap. It’s really interesting and scary when you think of all the ways it could spread. Did my son bring it home? If so, did my wife get it and share it when she was working at the food bank last week? Did my other son take it with him when he canvassed for Bernie this weekend?
My wife and I are getting nervous. We booked a vacation next month to visit my parents in the Netherlands, and a few days in Center Parks while we are there.
Hopefully we don’t get sick before we leave, or get sick while we are there, or my parents get sick during any of that time. Fingers are crossed.
Yeah, but unlike the lottery, your chances of ‘winning’ will double in 6-7 days and then double again 6-7 days after that. Rinse and repeat. I have a feeling that in a month we’ll be living in a very different country than we are today.

Are all these songs supposed to help with the timing of your handwashing or whats the point? I don’t get it. I’ve seen loads of these pop up and for me its just a combination of random songs with that guide and don’t understand what the one has to do with the other?
The original advice was wash your hands as long as it takes to sing happy birthday twice.

I listened to some folks talk about the briefing to the President … yesterday I think? Based on some reported comments, we’re doomed.
When told they were closing schools in some places his comment was, “this is bad enough they have to cancel schools?”
Before the briefing was even complete he asked to change subjects to the ban on flavored vape products.
The synopsis was that he can’t control this thing so he is distancing himself from it as a distraction, the exact OPPOSITE of what we need right now.
Yeah sorry modern internet assumes everyone’s heard of everything already.
He spent the weekend golfing in Florida. Again.
