You don’t need room. You can do what we did - replace the toilet seat. A wand comes out with heated water (if you get the right ones). Also a dryer. You just have to get the right one for your toilet shape (regular vs extended). And you need an outlet nearby.
We got our two after coming back from Japan. We love them. And are handy right now.
Well, it is possible, not sure how likely, though. Average death rate in the US is what… 1%? Trump’s own tweeted math puts the early death rate in the US among confirmed cases around 4%.
If 25% or more of the US gets this and that rate holds (as a worst-ish case scenario), then it would come true.

my collegue who is a typical right-winger nutjob, climate change deny-er from day one. You know what? He is also downplaying corona virus. It is all just hyped by the media, every year we have a new flu etc… typical right-wing BS.

They’re waging a war on science and facts and reason. If they get proven wrong on something like this, it means it’s harder for them to say stuff like global warming is a hoax. They’ll still say it, of course, but maybe there’s a little less conviction each time.

The rightwing propaganda machine is in a tough spot right now because while they would love to whip up the hate and fear over the “Wuhan/China Virus”, they can’t do so because Donald Trump has his head firmly planted in the sand and is frantically hoping this problem will go away and stop making the Dow go down. If Donald Trump is acting like this is no big deal, then they have to follow that lead. They can’t whip up fear of the problem while the President golfs and ignores it, that would make their Cheeto Idol look bad.
Oh, and if it wasn’t clear, the rightwingers you speak of are slack-jawed dumbfucks who completely lack critical thinking of any kind. They accept whatever info conforms to their bias and completely shut out any info that might challenge it.

I don’t think dismissing the Coronavirus risk is necessarily related to your political leaning. I can empathize with people who don’t think it’s a big problem or that it’s just media hysteria. The amount of cases in many places is still small. The issue seems remote. “Oh this is just something that’s happening in some far away country” or “It’ll never happen here, in the west we have excellent medical services” or my favorite “well we lived through Sars and Bird Flu, how bad can it be?” etc. This isn’t right-wing, just human nature?
Well, in my experience there is no shortage of stupid people with engineering credentials or technology jobs.

Agree. It did, for a bit, look like both mortality and infection rate were going to go down post-Wuhan and it really wasn’t a big deal. And even at this point, I don’t know anyone who is infected. I don’t even know anyone who knows anyone who is infected. No one on this forum is infected that I know of. There’s no direct social impact on most people except now with travel restrictions and event cancellations. Even in catastrophically hit Italy, only about 0.015% of the population has confirmed infections, and the quarantine measures are much more impactful for the vast majority of people than the disease itself.
