100% effective? Not at all. But soap is, biologically, a very good limiter of this specific virus. The lipid layer is good news on this, as it means soap can chemically disrupt it and destroy the viral payload. Anyone suggesting it won’t help is lying.

That was the one weird thing in the Section of the Rogan video I watched. The guy compared the virus to Hep-A in the sense that kids can transmit it without it making them sick, but then goes on to suggest closing schools might do more harm than good.

Is this just semantics? If you’re talking about how to prevent getting it yourself, washing hands is absolutely effective. If you touch a door handle with some virus on it, then wash your hands, you’re probably fine.
