Well, you can freeze it.

Not sure what’s going in in your neck of the woods but here in NYC I’m not having trouble finding anything I want.

Oh ghod no.

Still can’t reliably find paper goods (TP, paper towels, facial tissue), not having trouble with anything else.

I read somewhere that there is plenty of industrial toilet paper (I guess they mean those extra big rolls we see at airports, companies etc). But they are not allowed to sell that in regular retail outlets for some reason.

As far a cheese goes I can understand that going quickly as we have been making a lot of English Muffin pizzas at home. And tomato cheese sandwiches, and I would imagine with kids home parents are making grilled cheese sandwiches the king of comfort food. : )

As an elementary school teacher, this really got a good laugh out of me. The first parent/teacher interviews of…whenever, are going to be amazing.

Went to the grocery store on Friday I couldn’t find, of all things, spices. Most spices were sold out. I got the last jar of cinnamon and it’s roasted cinnamon not regular cinnamon. And our local grocery store still has zero toilet paper in stock. I noticed soup was in pretty low supply. Paper towels were sparse but there. Everything else seems back to normal.

Eels need human contact too.

I’ve had no problems with toilet paper for weeks now. I bought an extra 12 just in case, but at my normal poop rate I’m good for months.

But what if your poop rate increases by a factor of 12?

:)

Strangely enough, I am having a hard time finding napkins, TP and Paper Towels have returned to the shelves though!

My wife, an elementary school music teacher, lost her shit at that one.

Went shopping yesterday. Couldn’t find hand sanitizer nor sanitizing wipes (haven’t seen those since mid-March), but had no issues with anything else. Didn’t need any, but they did have paper towels and toilet paper (although they seem to be carrying more smaller packages than the large 36 roll ones).

Only real casualty I’ve seen so far has been these boxes of eggplant cutlets (frozen - pre-breaded) that I would use for eggplant parm. Got a couple boxes a week or two into this, haven’t seen them back in stock yet. Everything else - some things are sparser than others (usually due to sales, of all things), but to date, I haven’t had to change course to planning for a different meal or two due to being out of something. The meat section even seemed fully stocked yesterday.

Meat’s back on the menu, but now that there is a Facebook Worry about the meat supply I was surprised to see as much ground beef etc as I did when I went yesterday. I did pick up a couple steaks and 4 lbs of ground sirloin.

For the first time since all this began, I was able to buy masks and gloves at a pharmacy. The masks are not N-95s, but I wasn’t looking for those because it is illegal to use them if you aren’t a medical or other essential worker here. They are quite usable and comfortable.

My sister made masks for our family. They’re great. They have Daleks.

So great! I could eat them every day.

Actually, been using Pepperidge Farm Thin Slices of bread instead of English Muffins (on weight watchers and this makes it a lot less points - but I still think of them as English Muffin pizzas).

Not in Florida, at least major brands in supermarkets…

You can occasionally buy sandpaper in a convenience store though.

John Wayne paper! ;)

I haven’t seen toilet paper in my grocery store in six weeks just west of Boston, but my wife was able to grab a pack at BJ’s this morning. Everything else has been pretty gettable, and it seems like anything missing on a given week has just been a timing issue with when it’s stocked rather than a shortage. (I say this calmly from my current position of comfort in TP-security and meat-security. Worry level was higher last night!)

Oh, except for flour and yeast. We have a pretty nice bread machine and have been making a weekly loaf for a few years now, so seeing everyone go all horny for sourdough all of a sudden has been a bit frustrating. Probably has kept me from gaining even more weight than I already have, though.

No meat supply problems chez moi. Quite the opposite in fact.
