Thanks to social distancing, I’ll be attending my first bris today, via Zoom! It’s for my nephew, and his family lives far enough away that I wouldn’t be able to attend under normal circumstances. So this is one instance where social distancing might have actually made things a bit more inclusive.
I assume you attended your own bris, unless you married into the family.

Do you think that the adult bris is more entertaining? You know, the screaming, the begging? Just curious. :)
The rabbi handling your presumably fully erect adult penis in front of your family and friends must be offputting to start, and it just gets worse from there.

The Zoom bris was not that, um, exciting. Mostly it was family arguing about how to use Zoom. Maybe that’s the new version of bickering around the dinner table?
Nope, my sister married into the family and converted. I was just there for moral support.
I remember my own bris. I couldn’t walk for almost a year!

We had Peapod do a big restock run today. No paper products at all, no beans, and no lentils.
Although for once, all the vegan frozen things my GF likes were in stock. That never happens.
I did a shopping trip yesterday. It’s a little sad, but I was overjoyed to come across a big pile of instant yeast for sale.
My daughter today finished her freshman year of college, a month early, not in a dorm or classroom, but in her bedroom, taking the last of her finals on her laptop. She can’t even go out and celebrate the end of finals with her friends. It makes me sad. I’m just glad she’s a freshman and not a senior.

A local supermarket chain here has given in to the stress of the pandemic. They have repurposed their salad bar for something else:

Some parts of the economy have adjusted. I can reliably get same-day delivery from multiple grocery stores. Doordash can get good Chinese food to my door in 30 minutes or less. Amazon has toilet paper again.
None of these indicates progress against the virus. But they’re nonetheless welcome.

Well, I’ll just stick to Gold Bond Medicated Powder, though I suppose it doesn’t make great bread.
He said GLUTEN not GLUTE IN.
I checked Amazon after I saw this post. The only thing available was lavender-scented Angelsoft. One of the reviewers said the overpowering stench took over multiple rooms in his house, including his garage. I decided to pass.
Walmart had decent name brands in stock online. Some of the items were going out of stock as I was searching so I quickly finished my order with what I had in my cart.
