Creative X-Fi driver update... what?

I see on the MS Windows update that Creative Labs supposedly released a new driver for X-Fi cards in June of this year (I usually never open the hardware update tab).

So I go to Creative’s website and the latest driver they have (for Win XP) is from October of 2006? Anyone know where I can find the real… latest driver for X-Fi cards?

That’s weird. Creative did release Vista drivers for X-Fi cards a few months ago, and then again at the start of October. Maybe Microsoft is picking up those? Or maybe it took them so long to add the 2006 drivers for XP to Windows Update?

Or it took Creative that long to give the drivers to Microsoft to be distributed via Windows Update. It’s not like MS just goes around grabbing drivers and putting them up there.
