Almost every other key can be bound to whatever you want. Just not that one.

Makes no damn sense at all.

Grr. Yeah thats frustrating!

Maybe play with a controller?

My goodness, that first mission. Intense urgency, and yet there is trash loot EVERYWHERE. Do they not expect me to stop? Give me a minute here!

Found this. They have it in a separate configuration file. Have fun replacing like a dozen of them because it’s used all over the place, but worth it to me.

I guess the game released?

I have a solid hour of free time , lets give it ago.

Also player numbers peaked on steam at over 1 million.

Six hundred thousand CS:GO players jumped ship over to Cyberpunk.

That first car ride through the city was pretty impressive. I can’t believe we get to explore that.

On the other hand, every time I look in the mirror, I’m completely naked aside from the extra clothes I’ve put on. It doesn’t seem to register the default gear. Another wacky bug!

Too bad the hats change your hairstyle, at least this trilby I’ve found. If there’s no “hide helmet” option, I might have to do without that armor!

Not sure yet what I want to go with, where are the QT3 masses flocking?

My kid insists on playing Minecraft with his buds on his computer hooked up to the big TV so I wasn’t sure what to do…then remembered I bought a HD projector 3 months ago and only used it twice for movies.

Pulled it out, set up the 100”screen, now waiting patiently…need to find a permanent spot for this setup!

Corpo was fun, but they give you the hard sell in the description for the nomad.

I’m sure it has an impact later in the game but they move you on to the main game pretty quickly. So background doesn’t seem like too big of a deal so far.

My initial thoughts on the gameplay after barely more than a few seconds trying everything:

  • Guns: surprisingly decent. The assault rifle was more interesting than the handgun, which is too bad because I planned to stick with handguns. Seems more realistic for a former corporate climber.
  • Hacking: okay I guess? It depends on how many wacky things you can make enemies do. The mini-game seems very basic.
  • Stealth: serviceable. The takedowns look pretty rough. There’s some Dishonored here, but not nearly as slick.
  • Melee: pretty bad, in my opinion. Punching is janky and according to that one review, melee weapons are simply a matter of running up to people and spamming the quick attack button. I think I’ll pass.

I planned to go with hacking, pistols, and some stealth sprinkled in. I think it’ll be okay. But like combat in The Witcher 3, I suspect eventually I will get sick of it. I’m playing on normal for now to breeze through it. Maybe that will help.

High five! Gamers find a way!

Holy Shit, I think I just uncovered an amazing 30 Rock reference…

It’s about the brand of champagne.

I was hoping I could play with RT thanks to DLSS…but just like with WD Legion, when I enable RT, my Ryzen 2700X is not fast enough to supply the GPU with data for 60fps, so it drops to 45 while the 2080Ti is languishing at 70% utilization. That suuuucks. If I disable RT it is stable 60 on otherwise ultra settings and near 4K resolution.

I want RT :(

And of course Ryzen 5800X that might solve my problem is out of stock everywhere.

is that Sid James? or am I having my own internal Carry-On retrospective

More good news: so far I don’t really mind the slang and edgy characters. It all fits well together.

It’s all making me hanker to start a re-read of Effinger’s trilogy, which I’d meant to do prior to release day. So…think I’ll start on “When Gravity Fails” tonight. :D

My last comment for the night is I made it to a point where I realized this is a big-ass RPG and I should probably pace myself. I had planned to binge on a 3-day weekend. Now I think I’ll take my time.

That might change once the quests start popping up and the OCD takes over.

I was just thinking of buying the trilogy set on the kindle the other night.
