I just received the Xbox version in the mail, and am installing right now (Xbox one X, 4K tv). Currently playing maxed on PC, so I’ll try to comment on appearances a little later.

As Timex said, you can respect but it is very expensive, and is limited to skills. You won’t be able to respect attributes.
PS4 looks terrible compared to PC. BUT… the game is awesome fun on any platform :)
I bailed on the main quest first chance I got and am loving it :) I am having a GREAT time as a sniper/stealth build doing side missions and stuff.
Great game, its awesome when a hyped game is also good :)

It also seems super weird that you can’t change your character’s appearance after character creation. Seems to go against the theme of the world - “Change it Up!”.
Even Valhalla and RDR2 allow you to change your hair style and other surface deep designs.
I get - to an extent - not allowing you to mess with body morphing designs after creation. But come on, wouldn’t that fit into the theme of the world too?

I don’t believe that is accurate. It looks like the PS5 is running at a lower resolution. The XSX looks consistently crisper, although you’d likely only notice in this literal side by side comparison.

To be clear though, I don’t generally “root” for a side in console wars. I’ll almost certainly get both at some point eventually.
And really, at this stage, this game isn’t optimized for either of the next gen systems, so it’s not really demonstrating any real difference in terms of the hardware overall.
I believe the Xbox version has a quality mode for One X that the Playstation one does not for Pro, those limitations carry over to Series X and PS5.
IMO probably best to just wait for the native next gen versions due in 2021

I would have thought that the “quality” mode would be unplayable on the standard XBox One, given that the framerate is only like 30 on the XSX with that setting turned on.
Honestly, I don’t think so.
It plays quite well on the XSX, and looks good. Same goes for the PS5.
It will no doubt look BETTER with the next gen upgrades, and not trivially so, but the game already plays very well.
A reason for waiting would be if you didn’t want to deal with the bugs… but as I said, the bugs seem fairly minor at this point, at least thus far. (knock on wood)
From the stuff I’m seeing on twitter and youtube it looks Andromeda/Syndicate levels.
So is there a single library of eyebrows, mouths, and noses that developers use? Because I swear to god that the face customization is 75% Mass Effect code.

Yeah, this is not accurate, based on my personal experience.
Although, in fairness, part of it may be that the game itself is SO much more compelling than Andromeda was.
Like, there are little animation bugs with NPC’s, but it’s less of a big deal because they are just tiny aspects of this immense, immersive world. Where in Andromeda, they were part of a very constrained, limited environment.
Certain aspects of this game, like the interactions with characters in missions, is just extremely well done… some of the best I’ve seen, in any game, ever. The writing is legitimately good. The voice acting is absolutely top notch. The ways the characters act and move in those scenes, and your freedom to control yourself during them, is all very well put together in little, subtle ways.
That combined with being able to go anywhere I want in this huge, ultra dense world, makes little things like an NPC’s lips not moving when I bump into them on the sidewalk and they yell at me, just not that important in the overall scheme of things, at least to me personally.

For those who are interested there are already mods on Nexus Mods for:
- Changing the interact key binding from F to E.
- Removing the “Red Launcher” splash page which launches the game directly.
- Nude Mods already…oh wait.

That last comparison was done on an OG XBone, so if you have replaced the HD with an SSD, runnging on the last gen systems probably isn’t quite that bad.

I’m sure the fact you have an Xbox X and the game has no relevance to what you are seeing.
To be fair I have a PS5, but I don’t have the game yet, and I am leaning towards PC for it anyway when I do.
