So far I am really enjoying this, I spent some time off the main story just messing around in the Nomad starting area and messing with PC settings, 2.2 hrs in now and I am headed to meet Jackie Welles.
I’ve heard, and don’t know whether it’s true, that doing more side stories feeds more threads intro the main story and can influence what ending you get. So maybe?
I feel like we need a literal spreadsheet to break down which ripperdocs sell what upgrades and mods, how much they cost, and what the attribute and street cred requirements are. Otherwise, you could make some expensive mistakes.

My guess would be a leak of some sort, yeah.
In one sense, I suppose, if you are really trying to RP it, they’re not “mistakes” so much as “story beats.” But yeah, though I often tell myself I’m going to role-play my character, and not min-max, I usually can’t resist the allure of more stuff.
The main thing to remember is that double jump costs 45k and is super fun.
It is kind of a bummer that the NPC behavior in the open world is so basic and lame, like there is no AI almost. The game is storydriven and based around its missions and characters and it excels at that, as well as worldbuilding and atmosphere, but if it had that sandbox logic functional and less jankiness, it would be true GOAT.

Yeah. I can talk to nearly anyone, and no one other than quest givers has anything to say.

Every NPC will have their own routine in cyberpunk 2078.
And more dicks.

FPS drop fix, that will be excellent!
Money is super easy to get, just pick up the perk that doubles rewards from breaching and the one that automatically adds breach terminals to your minimap and you’ll be swimming in eddies. The breach game is super-easy once you realize the timer doesn’t start until you click the first entry.
Also you can quickhack every vending machine out in the world and each one gives XP towards breaching. Just takes a second.
Honestly my biggest complaint is that even if I had done 20 more side quests before the final mission I still wouldn’t have unlocked most of the high level content which is just kind of weird. I realize it is at least partially because I paced myself to avoid the majority of the side quests but the main quest also always has this sense of urgency.
I feel like the grind would actually be substantial to get a skill to 20 and it would start feeling like a grind. I kinda feel like it should be paced so that you’d reasonably be expected to max one skill in a playthrough without grinding. But maybe they set the pace to account for the DLC they’ve doubtless had planned for years.
But if you take the hacking module you can’t take the module that slows time and makes the game easy!

If you want combat to be easy, just turn down the difficulty. I’m all about exploring and experiencing every part of the story and world.
I was just kidding. But I did kind of give up on the hacking stuff very early in my playthrough once I got that time-slowey thing (I can’t remember the name, probably starts with an S), it just makes sense for a melee build.
Next run I’ll do a hacker/stealth guy and probably not play on Hard. I’m not amazing at FPS games in the first place.

Oh I just shoot fools. I like the gunplay and it’s faster than magic (hacking) or stealth.

The problem with the hacking stuff is that you don’t really get any cool powers until later in the game, so you’re still going to spend a lot of time shooting or slashing enemies. Good guns are free in every combat encounter, whereas the hacking equipment costs an arm and a leg (no pun intended) or you’re stuck with the 5-slot deck.

Yes I think that’s fair-- I didn’t specialize in magic because it just isn’t very good to start. And stealth is too slow for a very large game.
This is HUGE. I just found this out and am very excited for the sneaking implications. You can also cut out a lot of walking around if you can hop up on top of outdoor dining umbrellas, then onto awnings, then over the 2nd floor railing. :)

And some of the previews weren’t kidding. Respec is expensive and doesn’t become available until late!

There will be mods for that. I want free respecs. Attributes too.
