What is “ADS time” ? It’s the stat on scopes and some abilities.

Crap, I was gonna buy a next gen console for this, too.

Is that sarcasm? He literally writes the scores are low because of lastgen consoles. On nextgen it is fine, on PC even better.

I read it as lots of problems with the game outside just performance. Pathing issues, NPC issues, cops insta spawning right by you, etc (though to be fair you have to actually delve into the metacritic site to read about them).

Spoiler of a two side activities:
I learn about a market wheres some guy sells the snuff movies, my task is to pick one movie in particular. While doing so I find the sellers “enjoyng” the movies. They are not aggresive or armed, the ask for to be spared. I kill them both, because they are enablers of horrible crimes. Then I check some computers and the atrocities I found make me want to go back, rez them, and kill them again.
In other side activity a monk has been forced to have limbs turn into chrome, he plead to rescue his brother. I go there and rescue the brother. They are happy it was all pacifical. I can’t put into words how impactfull was this quest for the, the delivery was beatiful, amazing
this sidequest also give a reward a good elemental fire smg called “fenrir”
this is a great game

I really wish there was a gang tension system, though. :( Dwarf Fortress on Steam (with, we all fervently hope, a decent ui) can’t come fast enough!

On the defense of this game, in combat the game is good. You get rushed by mele characters, hackers and snipers stay far, mid distance fighter seek for protection but don’t stay there by try to flank you. If you stay for too long in a place and ignore some enemies, you will be flanked. Is on par to games like The Division, maybe a tiny bit better, since is a singleplayer game so can do a few things TD can’t do.
Ah, thanks. They need to fix this shit though -

I’m assuming they mean -7% ADS time and +92% Range.

Right, random pedestrians have almost no AI and no real reactivity etc. But I focus on the actual missions and sidejobs and gigs, where this stuff doesn’t matter.
I actually had to turn down the difficulty from Normal to Easy on one fairly lengthy early (prior to title screen) mission, because I was just dying again and again. But I’ve never been a wizard at shooters, I’m sure Normal would have seemed easy for those who are good at these games.
I think going to Easy just turned down the hit points on enemies.

That’s fair, The Witcher’s random NPCs were fine. I guess I will withhold judgement, it’s a huge game and it’s only been a few days, lots of meaty quests to delve into.
TIL not to get too close to a cop.
Magical police swarms will appear around you until you are dead from it.
Well, me, at least.

For sure. I honestly think that the combat is better done than the Witcher, which is surprising.
I can see why people might be disappointed in the static veneer of the world occupants, since they seem to have short changed it a bit. Given how hard it pushes hardware already I’m not really sure what options they’d have to add the missing variety when it comes to npc and traffic behaviors.

I still say it’s worth getting. Despite my dissapointment in the open world aspects the game is a technological marvel and I have no regrets buying it despite my PC being a bit behind the curve. There’s even an in game add for a product called “El Guapo” but I won’t spoil it for you.

I remember reviewers saying the ‘prologue’ (in reality Act 1, the time before you have Silverhand in your head) is 5-6 hours. Well, that’s if you ignore more of the content in the game, if you do the gigs and the combat areas, and use stealth, it’s looking to be 20 hours. I’m 13 hours in.
Sometimes that it’s bothering me it’s how some skills level up. Or don’t. The athletics skill, in special. While some other skills are already at level 7, athletics is still at level 1! I tried to sprint for 500 mts, I tried to do 50 jumps, I tried to beat a pair of guys with my fists, and nothing gave me xp.
According to Steam I’ve been playing for about 16 hours, and I just did the first act. Got to level 9 before I did the Heist. The completionist in me is still bugged I didn’t do all of those cyberpsycho hunts.

Oh man, I liked those too but weren’t there a ton of them? I think I did 3 or 4. Something for the next playthrough!
I think there’s a moderate chance they enhance the traffic AI for the next gen version. Maybe 40%. That’s assuming they even know how. Seems like a black art to me. Maybe it’s a solved problem in modern open world games? I don’t play them.
The game definitely does not want you to mess with the cops. That seems to be one of those things that is hard if not impossible to come back from. At least, the times I’ve accidentally gotten into it (stray shots) with the cops, it’s been game over. OTOH, you can waste any gangers you like.
Just don’t shoot even the scummiest NPC, that isn’t flagged hostile, even if you are isolated in a building with no one the wiser. Instant warrant for you.
