Overheat, I talked about it in my post!

I can’t get over how amazing this game looks at times. Not like a prerendered scene-- like concept art.

So I’ve gone back to do some sidequests, I’m level 31 and my blades are at 15 and my athletics are still kicking at 4. My body is at 13, so my skill is not capped. Athletics exp gain seems entirely messed up. You get it for using stamina and all I’ve done this entire game is sprint around and use stamina draining melee attacks. It should be close to my blades skill.

I’ve searched reddit and apparently it’s just an issue and really the only practical way to gain athletics XP is to get 18 body so you can buy one specific berserker cyberware and then just punch the air as fast as you can for 30 minutes or so. I hate stuff like this so much, and honestly can’t believe none of their QA people caught it. Like I actually find it difficult to believe.

My approach has been minimal Intelligence (like 5 right now), and putting points mostly into Body and Reflexes. My preferred approach is kill them all, let the 'Net sort 'em out.

I bumped the spoiler thread for anyone that’s made it through the title card and just beyond. Come on over and chat! Cyberpsychos further through the game aren’t welcome on our turf, at least for now.

I get the impression the QA people had bigger fish to fry. Or at least the people fixing the stuff the QA people caught.

Oh maybe not all of us are going to try to find an exploit to break the game, then criticise it for having an exploit which can break the game. If you are the kind of person who needs to punch the air for 30 minutes to max a stat go for it.

edit: Master of Magic had its halfling slingers - I still loved it.

Still downloading. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Hit the title card at 15 hours, eight minutes. Loving it.

What difficulty level are you all playing at?

Normal? I think?

Hard has been OK for me so far. I don’t have to think too much about combat.

I regret picking normal. It’s too easy and I totally suck at FPS.

You can change it, of course. I bumped it up to Hard almost immediately and that’s been good. I’m sure Very Hard wouldn’t be too bad either.

Wait what?! I tried looking for the difficulty setting and couldn’t find it. Now I don’t just suck at FPS, but also it seems also at settings menus.

edit: honestly no idea how I missed this. Maybe after my second martini!

This is not my experience.

I do most fighting with a silenced revolver, and kill guys with headshots.

The silencer works well, but only if you actually kill a target in one hit. If you hit then and don’t kill them, then it’s on.

One more question. What life path did you choose and are you happy with it? I’m finally loading this up. I am undecided between Nomad and Corpo.

I wasn’t trying to find an exploit to break the game, I was trying to find out if there was any practical way to gain XP in athletics because I am approaching cap on my “most used skills” and athletics should be one of those skills based on how much stamina i go through at every point of gameplay that isn’t driving. My Blades are 15 almost 16 and my Cold Blood is 13, my athletics don’t feel like they should be at 4.

Anyways I’m sure they’ve got it somewhere on a long list of to-do items.

I only tried Corpo, and was a little underwhelmed by it. I guess I was expecting it to be a bit longer or more indepth? But I liked the general beats, and the extra dialogue options it’s given me throughout.

Just got a nasty bug where I’m in Johnny’s POV during the digital fortress and the only thing rendering is Johnny and one other character. Everything else is a skybox. Thankfully, due to the nature of the sequence, I don’t need to navigate through the environment… until just now.

My character is a street rat. Level, um, 17? I think? 25 hours played. I’m taking my time, alternating between main story beats and side stuff. It does get a bit overwhelming, when as you pull into a new area trying to get to a quest marker, your phone won’t stop ringing as you get gig after gig offer coming in. It’s easy to get totally sidetracked, which is cool, because those are fun.

Had an odd bug with a tech assault rifle. It will not work with a scope, period. Any type of scope and you can’t charge it, maybe because the aim and charge are the same (right mouse button). But you can aim down the iron sights of course. Sort of makes it worthless, and I have two of these, blue and purple, that are pretty good except for that. Mostly I use one of the Legendary or Iconic pistols, though, and the best smart guns I can find. Using my limited hacking abilities to blow up stuff is always helpful, as are grenades as long as no civvies are near. I usually do good as long as I don’t rush it. Reloading is painfully slow without perks, and you can’t do much while sprinting or dodging without perks either.
