That may be true for you all. But I’m enjoying it because I’m a verbally violent fanboy. Who wants this extra yellow pitchfork they sent me?

There are some bounty missions that require non-lethal subduing of targets.

Yeah, there are a ton of criticisms you can level at this game, but I’ve put nearly 30 hours into it and have loved every minute. The AI problems are real, no doubt, but most of the time I don’t notice them much because I’m focused on different things. I’m not fucking with the police. I’m not trying to simulate a city commute. I’m going from point A to point B to kill sum twit or steal something. Would it be better if the cars behaved more realistically? Hell yes; once I left a car in the driveway to some place and the quest person’s car I got into just drove through it as if it wasn’t there. Stupid. And would it be better if the cops actually had to transit to your locale? Of course. Do these things make the game unplayable, or ruin my fun? Hell no.

I have been playing video games of one form or another since the late 1970s, as I started on mainframes. I have developed a very realistic I think view of what it is reasonable to expect from a video game. I’m pretty specific in what I like and what I don’t like, but I’ve learned not to think that my own liking or disliking of a game is a measure of its objective worth. I like this game. I enjoy playing it. I think it has issues, some of which can be fixed, some of which can’t. I think that I have already gotten my money’s worth.

I mean, really, some folks seem to use “perfection” as their baseline. Got news for you, buttercup; you are in for a lifetime of disappointment.

This seems like one of those random small parts of the game that makes no sense. I can’t see any tangible gameplay difference in clicking either button. As far as I can tell, getting rid of them non-lethally doesn’t take longer, they won’t wake up later and potentially ruin everything (like in Hitman), and it doesn’t seem to impact how your character talks or how people respond to you.

Even better, when I shoot the fuck out of people, they often lie there twitching like they are just unconscious.

I noticed this too! I can’t actually recall another game that drop enemies injured and squirming until you put a few more bullets in them.

We knew Cyberpunk had the potential to be the best game in years, and we knew it looked great so clearly it was going to require lots of horsepower. I built a top of line PC this year just to play it.

It was worth it. 😊

What does this little green circle on the minimap mean?

Green circles are usually NPCs that you can interact with.

Ok thanks!

I’m just a little way in. You weren’t kidding about the looks of this thing. I’m half toying with paying scalper prices for a GPU.

There are some quests where the NPCs will say something different if you do things non-lethally, but it’s very minor.

Some gigs prefer you take the non-lethal approach, you’ll earn bonus reward.

I am looking forward to getting some mileage out of this panel:

Glad it isn’t something more significant. I’ve had a few unconscious bodies explode into a smear of gore when bumping into them.

I don’t disagree with you that it’s a fun game but equating perfection to things other open world games did better twenty years ago is a massive troll.

CDPR knew what they were getting into aiming for this style of game. In some ways they’ve exceeded my expectations and others are hilarious failures. I still don’t regret the purchase, but I also can’t ignore there’s some clown car shit going on.

Was she? I thought she had a jumpsuit on, but maybe it was just because i saw some seams in her skin.

That’s a completely fair stance, far from the Reddit NMS-type start over from scratch bullshit.

Yeah she had bare boobies, Timex.

So I’m just walking out into the streets for the first time in the game and suddenly some dude dressed in business attire comes falling out of the sky screaming the whole way and splats onto the street and I thought how positively Morrowind.

Well now i have to start the whole game over, and I’m 47 hours in. This is bullshit.
