Raise your Body stat, pretty sure it’s in the tooltip for it in-game if you want to double check before investing points there.
I was under the impression you could no-kill this whole game (past the tutorial)? Is that not the case? Huh.

You can, sort of, but no-kill doesn’t only refer to stealth incapacitate. Short Circuit is non-lethal and I’m pretty sure there’s a cyber mod that makes your gun attacks non-lethal and no longer deals bonus headshot damage, if I remember right.
I “killed” one of the bosses MisterMourning is likely referring to (you get jumped, so not a way to jump him from stealth) but since I was using non-lethal stuff my shotgun blasts just knocked him out and didn’t kill him.

Also most (all?) blunt weapons are considered non-lethal. That’s how I tag all the cyberpsychos.

Oh, nice, I didn’t know that since I haven’t touched melee with this character (all Int with a little bit in Tech).

I had a pretty sweet electric baton for awhile - and I think it had the same jiggle physics of a dildo - so there was that.
I’m not sure if I like the ratio between number of main quests/side quests vs gigs/crimes/all other shit. They turned the ratio a bit too close to Ubisoft levels for comfort, while TW3 strong point was how quest-centric it was (well, the chest and bandit camps could be easily ignored). Not only the main quest is shorter as they said, I’m not seeing the same number of side quests. They seem to have tried to compensate with more gig-level content, but well, it isn’t same. Even if they have their own dialogue and objectives, lots of them are a bit generic and without any cool payoff.
The good part is that I like the gameplay here more than in any Assassin Creed or Watch Dogs, so from a gameplay pov, at least the gigs are fun to do.
I really wish that upgrading costs didn’t double after each upgrade. There’s some gear I wish I still had. But most especially outfits. I’m having to settle looking like a complete dork, while my awesome Cyberpunk jacket (the one from the marketing materials) had to be jettisoned because the upgrade costs get ridiculous after 3 or 4 ugprades.
That wouldn’t be a problem if the game had transmog option, but strangely it doesn’t have. Then again, same can be said about not having barber shop, and not having the option of changing facial features in the cyberdoc.
I’d be fine with a basic hide helmet option. The trilby I’m wearing looks godawful while I’m on my motorcycle. Everything else I can ignore.

The whole character creation process and clothing concept is pretty null and void since you hardly ever see them again.
I use lethal weapons on the cyberpsychos and when I beat them, they go into a defeated state (still breathing but on the floor and lootable). At least Regina doesn’t complain, and I get credit for them. I noticed some bosses do that too, so you get a choice to execute them or not (sorry Royce).
Is there some third person motorcycle view then? Mine has been in first person.
Yeah, me too. It’s pretty dumb. What’s the point in putting all this narrative emphasis on sparing them if you can still go in guns blazing?
Press “Q” to change camera.
The cyberpsychos don’t actually care. Snipe away, stab them, doesn’t matter. When their hps reach 0 they’re still “alive” no matter what you used to kill them with.

I’m going to wait a bit for the patches (maybe even for the PS5 version if it isn’t too far away) - but in the meantime, what are the best books to get me into the world and background for this game? I’ve read the obligatory Gibson Neuromancer, and I know there are a number of good cyberpunk novels out there, but which ones would be the best specifically for background for this game?

Really???!?? Thats insane.
I’ve been hitting them with my bare hands… Everyone of them. Even the annoying dark summoning circle one…because the lady told me to not kill them.

And you’re not using the ocular implant that makes damage non-lethal?

Well shit, I was dodging and weaving up this highway embankment, because the cyberpsycho could 1 hit ko me with his sniper rifle. That kind of takes a lot of the strategy out of it.
