Yeah, you need to spend like 16 points to get legendary crafting, so it requires commitment.
I just noticed something.
The Spanish version has changed the names of the main quests, so it does the same joke as the original version, the names are references to famous songs. Mainly 80s and some 90s songs.
For fun, some of the titles used…

A question. What’s the point of all the hacking components you receive? At least I have hundreds, thanks to the perk that increase the amount. There are no that many different daemons, and you only need one of each. Literally the only useful thing they serve is to create lots of them in the crafting screen (and it seems I can because a glitch?) and then selling them, winning money and grinding a bit the crafting skill.

Hacking components are how you craft the upgraded Quickhacks. Which is I think the only way to get some of them.
Yeah but I literally have enough to craft 150 of them…
Not only this, it is super powerful. You can pop heads like grapes with impunity much of the time.

Oooh definitely using that then. Sucks that it appears to be the only silenced sniper in the entire game.
And speaking of bugs, I have two of them. How? Dunno, but I think that when I finished the game, I got a message saying I had “rewards” when it popped me back to the pre-point of no return save. One of the rewards may well have been a (randomly rolled?) copy of that gun. But yeah.

How does Engineering level? I thought using tech weapons would do it but it doesn’t seem to give any XP. I think the bulk of I got by disabling mines and stuff.
These boxing matches are exercises in frustration. Just a total reload-fest. Most of the opponents can 2-shot you.
The racing missions are totally easy (except for that goddamn offroad one; the goddamn ground acted like ice. Still came in first on the first attempt, though).
The boxing/fighting matches are a nightmare.

Yeah I knew about that but it’s a little impractical because going around dealing ~400-700 damage per grenade if you manage to catch enemy in a blast radius is very slow compared to using literally any other kind of weapon.
I’m curious if the cyberware launcher works for this too?
Oh, and a stupid control scheme decision. You have to go into scanner mode and use middle mouse button to mark guards/targets. You usually do that while you’re sneaking around. But if you forget to enter scanner mode or you you screw up the timing, middle mouse button throws a grenade. So much for sneaking around.
I’ve had to reload about 8 or 9 times due to that already.
I may change my mind as I get farther into Act 2 (AKA, rest of game), but I am starting to believe that if all the resources and talent that went into making this an adequate open world game had instead been directed into making it a more linear or linear-but-wide (like Crysis) it would have been stellar.
I mean for all intents and purposes Act 1 is essentially a linear highly-scripted mini-campaign. I think Crysis-style wide corridors that give a convincing illusion of openness or nü-Deus Ex spoke-and-hub style levels may have served 2077 better and would have been more densely packed with engaging content.
Every time I break away from the central story path and go exploring I feel somewhat underwhelmed excepting the gorgeous scenery. I can get into a meaningless gang fight here or help the cops there, but it is journeying around observing really cool looking Potemkin villages.
The caveat to all of this is I may change my mind as I get further into Act 2, but other comments here suggest that may not be the case. I am keeping an open mind though and trying to meet 2077 on its own merits where possible. The highly scripted linear parts have been quite an exciting roller coaster of heists gone wrong.

I first read this as Pokemon villages. And I shuddered.

To be clear you don’t have to spend any points into crafting/tech to be able to upgrade the hacks. They have their own perks on Intelligence that only cost 1 and can be purchased independently. So you can skip uncommon and rare and just buy epic or even just legendary. Then you upgrade a found hack with your crafting.
Which, btw, completely snaps off what little was left of the difficulty curve.

I remapped throw grenade for this very reason.
You can throw quite a few of them in a short amount of time. The low level ones tend to pile up as well.
That said if you’re looking to max out Engineering, yeah, that’s gonna be a slow method.

To what key? Just curious.
