Oh no, the yacht money! Won’t somebody think about their yacht money?
From the Jason Schreier article:
It was a fitting atmosphere for a company whose slogan, plastered on posters all around its Warsaw office, is “We are rebels.”
Probably time to take those signs down. You are no longer rebels when you have billions of stock options and forcing rank and file staff to mandatory crunch 6 days a week while vying for ‘bonus tokens’ for excessive overtime.

I had absolutelly no idea, has been a surprise to me… not a huge one, but a honest one.
I love this fix:
“Fixed an issue whereby after a braindance it was possible to be stuck in 3rd person view with no head.”
When you think you are the nomads but you really are the corpos.

1.05 is getting people stuck in Settings.

I think I will shelve this until the inevitable Enhanced Edition. I can’t even bring myself to log in anymore.
Or maybe once it gets a little more patched start over and stick with strictly shooting, no hacks.

Glad to see the crosshair stuck being fixed, that annoyed me with smart guns. And the delamain questbug I had (fixable by reload) is also fixed, nice. Now if they would zoomout the minimap when driving, that’s my biggest annoyance for now.

Same for me. 20 hours in, but I can’t really get it to run the way I want with RT enabled (i7-3700, 2080S, 4K, or 21:9 2.5k), framerates are inconsistent I can’t arsed restarting every 45 minutes to ‘refresh’ the performance. Also, playing with a controller is just not that great - I’m not convinced the aim assist even does anything. Playing with a mouse for 5 mintues in a shooting encounter is a night and day experience, sooo much better, but I prefer controllers for traversal and driving.
Happy to let it bake a bit longer.

Spending a couple of hours in a surprisingly janky prologue was concerning enough for me to table it until 2021 or beyond. I look forward to seeing how they go about supporting it.

Is the patch already live on Steam? Mine hasn’t updated yet.

Works normally on my end - when aiming down the sight it snaps to enemy if I am aiming close.

I assume any big RPG is going to be, especially open worldy ones.
From a dev that’s outside of their comfort zone? Really expect it.
I’m enjoying it, but it’s no Witcher 3 by any means. It’s far closer to a Bethesda game if anything.

To change a bit the pace from all the doomposting, I have to take my hat off to CDPR artists. As I’ve said before the city is great. In scope, density, details, atmosphere… but now I wanted give attention to the variety between districts. Watson that feels like home, with an interesting mix of smaller rundown buildings, narrow streets, small markets and on the other hand megabuildings and more eclectic architecture with bold lines, with a bit of Hong Kong flavor on top if. Japantown is all decadence and pure cyberpunk, Charter Hill is snobbery avenue, Arroyo’s impoverished lifestyle impressed me, while Rancho Colorado got the poor suburb area perfectly. Pacifica is a mix of abandoned warzone and homeless city, and Corp Center makes sure to smack the player with its grandeur and how you are a little thing in comparison with the all mighty corps.

This. It’s no New Vegas or Witcher 3, which is disappointing. The bugs outside of console issues are basically on par for a Bethesda release as well.
Which is fine, I guess, but not what I was hoping for. I was hoping for a New Vegas experience (bugs and all), but I got Fallout 4 with a more interesting story and better writing (imo). Which again, is fine, I’m enjoying it, but it’s not like say the first Witcher game. Even as much as I hated the combat in that, I loved the choices and consequences there. Here it’s like… whatever, pick the option to do our quest or pick the option to… do our quest, but not right this second. You can argue about not doing it, but you’re doing it.
I think one quest so far has had anything resembling an actual option that I can recall.
Also as someone noted, getting phone calls and text messages for jobs from basically one person is far inferior and less immersive than Witcher contracts. Also most of the missions are “go kill people”, though I have run across a few that actually were interesting where I talked to someone with the option to shoot them, which was neat. Those are by far the minority though.
The dialog that Johnny has sometimes seems deliberately reminiscent of the TV-series Geralt, who says essentially two things, “Hmm” and “fuck.” Johnny often gives us a “hmm” that is very Geralt-like.
I am enjoying puttering around with this still. I have my post-ending continuance character, gun-focused, as well as corpo and nomad beginnings in place. I’m spending more time with the continuance character. Some of the side missions are really nicely done, and interesting. And of course after having “finished” the main story and gone back to the pre-point of no return save they give you, I finally get the Rogue missions, which feel very odd given the back and forth timeline travel I’m doing!

I think I need some 6* red heels to set them off a little better and maybe an amoured training sports bra.
A man rides down the street in that outfit, people know he’s not afraid of anything.

According to CDPR, the effects of the memory_pool_budgets csv file tweak were placebo.
According to the 1.05 patch notes (not yet out on PC):
Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.
