From vids I’ve seen, NPC count is way up on the newer consoles compared to last-gen. On PS4 I felt like the Omega Man running through Night City. The XSX footage I saw in the market area looked like an actual crowded market. (4:30)

That was reportedly in earlier patches; nowadays both PS5 and XSX have very low NPC and vehicle counts, from what I’ve heard. I don’t have the game on XSX so I can’t check.

From what I’m getting from the DF guy in the video, running in ‘Quality Mode’ locks in at 30fps but increases the NPC and vehicle count.

He’s also said he’d love to be in the proposed Mass Effect TV show. Guy loves his gaming franchises.

I think I might be grabbing this mod.

Video there and nexus mods link.

Unless CDPR is working on it, they should just pay that modder and make it an official update.

I agree its not like CDPR is hurting for cash.

So, I booted this back up on the XSX and it runs just fine. However, I think I’m shelving this until I get wind of when the next-gen update will drop.

It was actual quite stable and playable on an Xbox Series X at launch. I played for 40+ hours starting on launch day and had one crash and ran into one situation where characters were t-posed. I did run into a nasty quest bug which I had to look up on the Internet — it turned out if during a shootout you entered a car while crouching, after completing the next driving segment, you couldn’t exit the car. But overall Xbox Series X definitely seemed to be the best platform short of a top-end gaming PC to play it on.

As with you, I’ll likely fire it up again when the next-gen update arrives.

I gotta say, if the update is past Q1 of 2022, I’m jumping back in. I was having way too much fun as Fem V slicing and dicing with a katana. I basically ran through the Maelstrom hideout slashing and chucking grenades (playing on Easy).

It will be really sad if it’s not out sometime in Q1. But sadly my impression is they still really don’t seem to have things back on track yet, so I won’t be surprised one way or the other.

Q1 22 just seems overloaded with new game releases, they gotta re-release during a slow time to get maxim interest again.

Cyberpunk’s game director recently left the studio. He had been with CDPR since Witcher 1.

Wow, he left to make a space sim? That’s so awesome.

He is probably very financially secure if he’s been with the company since their first hit over a decade ago. And yes it is awesome.

But is it as good as SC!?

Away from the game itself, one of the most interesting aspects of Cyberbang 2069 is that it was made with express permission from CD Projekt Red itself.

Picked this up after seeing a few revisionist takes on the game. I’ve just opened up the world and have been wandering around the city exploring and trying some of the side missions.

The gunplay feels terrible to me, and I’m hoping it’s just because I’m underleveled. To kill street randoms I have to unload an entire magazine or two into their heads while they barely react. I just had a 5 minute fight with a “cyberpsycho”, where I put 100+ shotgun shells into him while calmly using some of the 20+ Health Inhalers I’d found lying around.

I’m not a fan of the Borderlands style combat where everybody’s a fast bullet sponge – does it get better?
