Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners

Ha, he’s one of my favorite streamers. That’s awesome.

Cohh is wholesome, looking forward to meeting him :)

Cohh did a solid run through of Divinity Original Sin 2, that’s how I discovered him. I can’t wait to shoot his character.

I’ll probably keep my pre-order.

Yup. 3 starting areas confirmed by others.

A few details that I’ve seen around:

-A quest had 7 possible outcomes. The journalist was able to befriend the boss of a gang and instead of fighting him in a miniboss encounter, it has an ally in a firefight against the corps.
-Weapon use make you improve in that weapon skill in time, Oblivion style.
-Jesse Cox is also in the game.
-1 hour of gameplay => 8 hours in game. You can skip time. No loading when skipping time.
-your mate Jackie, when he accompanies in combat, is a capable fighter, he can kill people on his own.
-crafting was disabled in the demo.

Nvidia article with their exclusive features, DLSS, RTX

Same…a futuristic GTA.

I guess on superficial level people will be comparing any game that features open city, cars and R-rated language to GTA. All other aspects be damned.

The only worry for me on a practical level is I hope that those additional gameplay systems are not terrible. I just couldn’t get past the horrible motorbike physics in Sleeping Dogs, even though I loved the demo portion of the missions. The voice acting was great, they had good characters, as far as I could tell, but the moment I got on that motorcycle and tried to make my way across the city blocks to the next mission point, I knew I’d never play that game again.

Same with the horrible car physics in the first Watch Dogs. I did manage to play that one for about 10 hours or so, but after about my 6th horrible car chase, I just couldn’t take it anymore.

So I really hope Cyberpunk 2077 has decent car physics, not just good first person shooter mechanics.

One thing to notice…all the journos have basically played the equivalent to White Orchard. I haven’t seen or read anyone who has said he drove through the other districts, just the initial one. They all reference the first main quests and the same 2-3 side quests (the twin fight, the guy with the malfunctioning enhanced penis, killing a psycho killer with a warrant).

I remember when people would look at a game that was “open world” and regardless of setting/etc, immediately say “zomg this is just borrowing from GTA”. Ignoring the long history of open world games in PC gaming that go back to 1979 (Akalabeth).

I wonder is there anywhere the b-roll footage in 4K without any voiceover?

Gamersyde dont have it.

Hah hah as I read the first sentence I was saying out of loud “gamersdye”.

Looks good! Seems like a solid day 1 buy. :P

Looks more like ‘you are going to have to buy a new gpu’
