I never liked Geralt or the Witcher world and combat system. Hopefully this will be more up my alley since I really like the cyberpunk setting and have been wanting CDPR to branch out to something else.
They sold me all over again on the corpo background just from the first sentence in the trailer (2:20). Hahaha!

This level of hype is never good for any game. “Unrealistic expectations” can help sell a game but they rarely result in proper appreciation of the game itself.
I’m cautiously optimistic myself. Enough to preorder the game, given CDProjekt’s track record so far. And CDProjekt’s track record is also what helps me keep my expectations in check - they made brilliant games, but each and every one of those had their shortcomings. I fully expect CP2077 to be “flawed” like that - perhaps even more, considering it’s not only a new IP, but their biggest project ever.

Other than supporting the developer early, not really. I try to pre-order games I know I’ll want to play from developers I like and support, and I preordered Witcher 3 a full year before it came out, so it made sense (to me) to do the same here again.
Somehow I think CDPR will be just fine regardless.
Amazon do have a $10 pre-order discount.
I’ve ignored 90% of the hype, hoping to get the game and be wowed by stuff I had no idea was in there.
