I can definitely see a strong resemblance lol. I can see why nexon might want to get mad at this but it also might have no actual basis

But still, they cancelled it. Plus, you have the same people, using the same engine and the same assets and ya, it’s probably going to look similar.

I hope they can beat this. The second article, in particular, goes a bit into why it’s important. Imagine you could copyright something like ‘spaceships’ or ‘dungeons’. It’s just absurd, and it kind of makes me angry…

Just a bit of an update, and an observation. From their team lead(i think):

And I noticed this appeared in Steam:

Man, if that doesn’t scream “I dunno, just put something on there!”, nothing does. The website is also barebones, cycling two of the images listed on the steam page. That its developer and publisher have no other works, that it’s going to apparently arrive in July(2023!), and is titled and looks very similar to this game, leads me to believe it’s part of the legal shenanigans from Nexon.

I dunno, interesting times…

Curious if anyone is playing this game. I have a couple friends who were playing it so I decided to buy it yesterday and give it a try. I’ve never played Tarkov but have played a game called Vigor which is the same idea. I like the theme better in this game but Vigor definitely has more going on. I find extractions a bit frustrating right now as it seems a bit random unlike Vigor where you always know where to exit the map and it’s just a matter of pressing your luck on how much loot you want to try and get before leaving. I’ve only got to play solo so far so I’m looking forward to trying this out with others in my party to see how that changes the feel of the game.

I remain super-interested in it, even though i haven’t yet bought it. I’ve been waiting for them to sort out their legal issues and get themselves back on steam. I’ve just recently read that their legal issues are now mostly sorted (the US filings apparently dismissed, and the korean ones on a similar path), so maybe i’ll bite, though i’m a little weary of using their own store (versus steam/epic/etc).

As far as the game goes, i enjoy it even though i’m lukewarm on extraction games. For me, the random extraction points are what really works for me - i hate camped extraction points, which you get a lot less of here.

I’ve been back into extraction shooters and playing a lot of Marauders and Lost Light. Some A Torn Path to Renown and a bit of Dark and Darker.

Definitely preferring the more casual approach of the first two. I also like how they are both very solo friendly.

While Dark and Darker is still marred with legal issues, another contender has appeared

Yeah, I agree. There are rumors it will be coming to Dark and Darker, but no such luck yet.
