it’s a fashion thing I guess. I want to look like a proper knight ;) I might try to mix… I love the movement agility when you are below 25% though. Fashion or agility? That is the question…
After a night off, I decided after farming some more souls to upgrade a few things. I finally now have a weapon that outmatches my Titanite Catch Pole, at least against certain enemies. I’m having a blast in Duke Archives right now, my gargoyle lightning halberd is making sure I never use another non-halberd again, and I’m now at the second bonfire and getting closer to the boss. After the gloom of the Tomb of the Giants, this place is a lot of fun, although I hope my second shot at the boss goes better than my first (which I presume you’re destined to lose anyway).

100% agreement. How can they put the summoning sign within the arena?

I did the same thing. Congrats on the win over Artorias. I do think that is one of the best fights in the game if not the best.

If you are talking about the one on the bridge he is much tougher than the others. At least I found him much tougher.

Yes…and the boss moves so you don’t have to go back to the same room. Every fight in that room will be a quick loss.

That must be the Black Knight greatsword to weigh that much. The Black Knight Sword was only 8lbs I think.
yes Black Knight Greatsword. I meet the stat requirements, but it is a bit slow. Will the handling improve when increasing the stats? It helps to 1 shot enemies, so if timed right, it is ok. but if I need more hits, it is slow animationwise
I’m pretty sure increasing your stats will have no effect on the speed with which you wield a weapon. There are slow weapons and quick weapons. That’s the whole reason I eventually fell in love with the Iaito. It’s one of the fastest weapons in the game, and I needed it for one boss, so I leveled it up. But now I don’t want to part with it. I always want to be super fast, swing, swing, block, dodge. I love being fast. Though I also like high poise, so staying below 50% weight maximum is a good compromise for me.
Yeah, the one on the bridge.
It’s deceptive, because he looks just like the others!
Also, am I crazy or is he the only one that seems to always respawn? Is he a constant source of Demon Titanite? I beat him twice, and both times he dropped two pieces of the upgrade material. Not that I have any equipment that I want to upgrade using that material. But if I did, then I guess this would be my ticket.
I’m kind of sad that my adventures in Lava-land are over. That was very different and fun.

Basically the bigger the weapon, the heavier it is, the slower it is. Strength helps a touch but not enough. I think with Dex weapons you can “speed up” a weapon a little by increasing Dex but they are already faster. I always had trouble with the greatswords due to the slowness and the every now and then wild swing.

Yes, someone on here commented that he is the one resource for farmable demon titanite.
You can run past him if you don’t want to fight him though.

I needed about 5 tries for O&S – I think the trickiest part was getting Solaire to get the aggro on Smough. The next question will be to try to take Lautrec on directly or to cheese it w/ ranged attacks.
5 tries? Thanks for making me feel like a loser ;)

Well he doesn’t say how many, if any of those were solo attempts. I probably tried to solo it 10 times along with a couple times with Solaire before I finally won it this time. I bet my first run through it was easily double that.
Your build can also effect some fights. O&S are susceptible to certain types of elemental damage.

Sorry, wasn’t trying to brag. Scuzz is right to wonder, since I only tried it once solo and had my butt handed to me when I did!
I had the black knight sword +5 and 30 str, so two-handed, I can deal a lot of damage, esp. when Solaire keeps their backs to me.
I’m just getting an unplayable framerate in the Crystal Caves against Seath (sp?). It’s a slide show. I wonder if I should try it at 640x480 resolution or something, see if that helps? Crystal Caves were fun until the very end when I got attacked by the frame-rate gobbler.
Maybe try to to reduce singe advanced gfx visa dsfix? I had the same issue with firesage demon to the point the game would exit. Tweaking dsfix asked me to at least get past that level.
In the meantime I’m still being annoyed by kalameet. I think I’ll chat again and watch a video ;)
Seath is down. Gobble up my frame-rate will you? Take that! With the frame rate issue, I finally had to stop trying to get his tail to see if it dropped a weapon.
Up next: Chasm of the Abyss. I tried Kalameet for a while yesterday. Well, I tried getting his tail anyway, and it seems impossible because he never puts it on the ground for me to swipe, unless he’s swinging it at me. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not ready to take on his tail yet. Which is strange, since I seem to be inching close to the end of the game.
Killed Seath also, didn’t notice much of a framerate hit although I was too busy trying to kill him. Which I did, first time. Definitely a contender for easiest boss. I didn’t actually take any damage.
Right, so now I have to think where to go next. I think I may just have another shot at Sif. Otherwise, it’s back to the dank Tomb of the Giants, not my favourite place that. I could also try and find the entrance to the DLC that rock8 is talking about. Somewhere near the original Hydra, you say? Okay…
