This was great advise. I spent some time in Anor Londo practicing parrys against the knights. Then came back and got him on the first try. I feel dumb for not taking the time to learn this before.

So I’ll amend my assertion from before and claim the title of “Worse player to beat dark souls”.

What a rush. Now I need to decide to go with DS2, or jump straight to DS3 while people are still playing it.

I never learned to parry in my first DS run through. I ended up beating Gwynn with a maximum plussed Fire Zweihander and just bashed him down. But believe me, I had more levels and more hours in than you. I gave up on the fight once and just went out and farmed for levels, materials etc and finally went back and beat him.

I still am not good at parrying, I should probably practice that now that I am in Anor Londo in my second play through.

I did parry the Pursuer once in DS2 though. :)

I brought a freaking dragon greatsword with me. Couldn’t hit him with it to save my life. Fire weapons were not an option, cause I killed Vamos by mistake (damn wheel skeletons).

So who sucks more, eh?

While trying to get the hawk ring behind the Giant Blacksmith I accidently attacked him and had him kill me. I had to go back to Oswald the Pardoner and pay 27k souls for absolution so that the Giant Blacksmith would be civil to me again. Also, Siegmeyer of Catalonia (I know that’s not right) was accidently hit in a fight with Silver Knights and went off on me. Him I ended up having to kill.

On my first (and aborted) play through, I killed the vendor in undead burg.

I once came by the giant blacksmith, and I was talking with my son, and got distracted, and my fingered touched the shoulder button and I hit him.

Coming into the room of quaalag’s sister, I suddenly realized I’m face to face with something that isn’t a weird wall. It really gave me a scare, and gave her an axe to the head.

I accidentally killed that guy in the depths. I repeatedly cursed the stupid fucking game as I farmed an extreme amount of souls to request absolution. Then I cursed it again when I realized how pointless that vendor was.

What a dumb system. At least make it cheap, idiots.

The cost is based on your level at the time you ask for absolution. X amount per level.
