NPD noted that the Number 7 position for the year “Overwatch” did not include Blizzard’s store digital sales. So I suspect Overwatch was higher up that list for the year.

Nintendo also mentioned that Pokemon Sun and Moon sales combined, including digital sales are at 4.5 million. And Nintendo sold 7.3 million units of 3DS games over the last three months of 2016, so mostly Pokemon.
I’m a bit surprised at the popularity of Final Fantasy XV, especially on PS4. It even beat out Infinite Warfare. And it sold enough in December to become one of the top selling games of the year. And that’s despite mediocre reviews, and a very poor word-of-mouth reception as far as I can tell here at Qt3.
Pretty sure that’s just your opinion. I for one like it much more than 13. Also the Reddit boards are filled with people enjoying the game. Sure there are plenty of people who don’t like the game but I think there’s enough who do to explain those sales numbers.
