Re: potential sound fix, do you just rename the movie folder anything or is there something else that has to be done?
Is there a way to play Skirmish or Pantheon with a specific team?

I think that is supposedly coming with the clan wars content that is due out in summer.

Wow, very good find.
Btw, I don’t think Brad checks his PM folder at all :)

don’t get used to it…
After a couple of positive attempts I then had a series of craptastic experiences… either with people dropping out, lagging out, or simply not even being able to find a Pantheon game.
Of the 3 Pantheon games I was able to play, the first two I was the only human person left… and the third it was 2 UB vs. me solo, my ally lost his connection about 5min in to the match.
There are so many issues I wish I could send it back… and then MAYBE pick it up again in a couple of months if they (GPG and SD) can pull it all together. But I have no clue where my receipt is, and of course they want a receipt with the game so I’m SOL with this mess of a multiplayer game.

I’m still noticing a bug with achievements, the game says that I have a lot that I never earned, which sucks as it means I’m not getting favor points for them.
Also is there some trick to taking down regulus as Rook that I’m missing? Even with boots of speed and the speed increase artifact I can’t catch him while he just attacks while running away.

Thta’s the thing, Rook needs help. There was posting in the forums about the ‘speed’ race. Everyones grabbing both bonus’ to speed. So since Regulus is naturally faster than Rook, if your opponent grabs the same items, he’ll be faster. You’ll need a teammate to grab him.

Rook has a very difficult time with ranged characters. You could try getting the armor that gives you damage return and just laying on the health, that might work.
The shoulder-towers and planted towers should help a little, also.
I play a pretty good Regulus, and last night I went up against an Unclean Beast that was just utterly destroying me. He could close the gap on me very quickly, walk right through my mines and sniping, and stay on me even as I ran away. If I tried to port out, he’d stun/interrupt me. He usually ended up at about 50% health after totally kicking my ass.
UB players: How did he do that? Speed items seem obvious, but he was hitting me in melee for about 250 on top of his DOT ticking away for 150ish. It was brutal.

Or a wand of speed - it’ll wipe the smug look right off his dumb goggled face.

As the Qot, should I even bother with attack increase equipment or focus on mana? Just played my first long game and I managed to defend the citadel twice using my ground spike to wipe out the entire army. Also are shamblers worth it at all for her? They didn’t seem to do much of anything during my game.
I’ve had good success going the shambler route and just using brambles, shamblers and going mostly mana items plus the slayers gloves.
Back when I played, I got some minimal mana support, and pumped attack. Her circular thorns attack devestates armour values, so she really cranks out the attack damage. I didn’t raise shamblers really (though I buy them as a heal at the end). Generally I would Shield-Slowing Spikes-Circular and autoattack 3 or 4 times while their armour was reduced, and reapply shield/repeat combo if needed… in fact, I would only raise those 3 abilities while I leveled up to lvl 11, by which point you should be raking in the kills with that combo.
Silly QOT fact: Circular spikes does more damage to buildings than the building nuking spell (which I believe is more expensive anyway)… 1500 armour reduction to buildings means they are taking a little over double damage for several seconds, and with any reasonable attack damage this double damage more than makes up for the smaller skill damage with your auto attacks alone. Mind it also doubles the damage of any other creeps/heroes against the building(s) in question, and one-shots a huge radius of enemy troops.
Wow, I can’t get in a game at all anymore. Not a Skirmish, not Pantheon, and not Custom Games. The beta was better.
I haven’t seen a lot of Rooks who do a lot of killing. Mostly they take and hold territory, and push into the enemy base. It’s pretty effective, just a different role.

You can make a Kill Rook but it’s risky as hell. He has to totally commit to the battle and get Sedna or Torchbearer to lock out his target’s skills. Otherwise he’s going to never get The Hammer off, and he really sucks at beating feet when things go bad.
UB is one of Regulus’s worst matchups. Reg’s got the lowest HP in the game, so one hit of spit can take out half his health bar…plus unlike other Demigods Reg has no built-in way to cancel the spit or otherwise heal himself. (It’s too bad the “remove all negative status effects items don’t remove spit.” On top of that, UB is the fastest Demigod in the game and so he can close the distance on Reg’s ranged attack better than anyone else.
If you’re up against an UB I’d recommend going all out on speed up and slowdown items and abilities. Grab the swift anklet and speed boots to help reduce the base speed difference, and consider the wand of speed for getaways. Get the passive snare attack ability line, the gloves that have a chance to reduce your target’s speed 25%, max mines ASAP, and max your range increasing ability. The extra range along with the slowdowns help you kite him while staying out of spit range, and if you manage to get all your snares on him at once he’ll be a sitting duck. Early on when you’re still getting outfitted I’d recommend fleeing as soon as you get spit on.
Stunning to interrupt TPs is an absolute must at higher level play, and it’s yet another reason you need to be ready and able to retreat to towers rather than trying to TP out at the last second, AI-style. Hell, now that I’ve got Penitence timing down relatively well on Oak, I manage twice as many AI kills as before :)
But beyond that, yeah. . . a UB with high regen, +speed, DoT, and +attack is absolutely sick to deal with. In the end, I usually just resort to out-healthing/armoring him and whacking away; typically if they go with such a build, their actual damage is relatively low (I manage the same 400DPS as Oak easily, not including my minions, and he’s a general!) . . . as regulus, you could probably get to a health/armor point that you’d live long enough for your (hopefully) higher DPS to win out.
Just saying: when I see a decent UB player in-game, I start dropping items from my build and start erplacing them with armor and regen rings QUICK.

I just looked at this game for the first time today, and I didn’t realize that it was so influenced by DotA. I played DotA a lot back in the day, and am now interested in the game. I hear that there are big multiplayer problems. Would you guys suggest I wait before buying. It it worth a buy at all? Do you guys play together much? I don’t think it would be fun to play pubs all day.
