How about Xfire or something? I don’t have and don’t want Steam.

The main advantage of Steam is group events, which is basically like sending a message to everyone in a group at once asking them if they want to play (it also flashes at the bottom of the screen and even appears in the middle of your screen depending on how you set your options). I don’t know if Xfire has anything like that.

I don’t know either. I’ve never actually used it, I just noticed a couple of people suggesting it earlier in the thread.

What about using mIRC or an IM thingy if mIRC is too fiddly to set up?

I have a DG code available. PM me if you want it.

just an FYI, I got a EVGA 260 core 216 and the eye candy is amazing on DG. Completely different game with all settings to high & 4AA. I am very impressed.

I got it for $159 from newEgg (with $25 mail back rebate)

Yowza!

My 4850 can display everything at full in 1920x1080 The game looks awesome.

Some good games last night. I would be interested in playing some more tomorrow night or possibly later tonight. I will just hop on the vent server when I get back tonight (around 11 CST)

I love UB.

Which Vent server?

I bought the same card a couple weeks ago when building my new pc, and I couldn’t agree more. The game looks great and runs great.

DG code, PM me for it.

So after taking a break, I went back and started playing custom games instead of Skirmish or Pantheon. MUCH BETTER. I’m playing mostly 3vs3 and 4vs4 with no problems (other than ragequits). A lot of fun.

While I miss Pantheon games, just because it’s fun to play in a tourney, I’m really glad I’m getting bigger games working and no AI unless someone drops.

Also, a new rules needs to be in place. If someone drops, and the AI takes over, they should only be worth half or a quarter gold. We all know they aren’t as good as people, so lets go the final step and take away the gold mine aspect of killing them over and over.

Stardock is hoping to add to Demigod the ability to detect whether a player quits or is disconnected:

Quit = player’s demigod removed from game
Disconnected = player’s demigod taken over by AI

That makes no sense.
Why should the team with the leaver be punished more if one of their members disconnected instead of him leaving intentionally?
An AI player actually is a liability, as it feeds the enemy team. Only the very worst human players help the enemy that much.

But, but, but… What did I do?

EDIT: Also what Thelun said. Nightmare AI cheats too much, and the rest are more retarded than a sack full of depressed, drunken lemmings.

I’d love a lifetime drop rating, like Street Fighter IV shows in multiplayer. If someone has a high percentage it gives me an early warning that I’m going to get hit with some AI once I start winning or losing, depending on whose team he’s on.

…groan…

There will be something similar to this in Impulse shortly.

Excellent.

I would like to say that the 50% off coupon was a great idea, as it got me to pick up the game. (and I am sure many others as well)

Just had my first really good game of Demi god. I killed as Oak, by focusing on penitence I delivered a one two punch with my partner to kill the other DGs. Once I got his AOE attack things just fell into place. That heart of life item saved me so many times. For once in the game I not only was the highest level there, but I had enough gold to buy 2 artifacts.

Excellent.
