I’m getting frustrated by favor items, with my achievements still screwed up the best one I have is the speed increase one and even that doesn’t help me against people who have been playing since launch with no problems acquiring the best favor items. I’m watching enemy DGs tear into me with little or no understanding why they are that more powerful then me. There needs to be a way to view what equipment the other dgs have as I’m not learning anything getting killed every time.
Also I really, really want it to not show what the other team has picked for DGs, that is just too imbalanced for words.

same here, just gave my code to a friend who wanted, but I guess didn’t care enough about the game to buy it before it expired.
Oh well, I had mixed feelings about the coupon to begin with. It was mainly to try to get more sales from people that were initially turned off from buying the game by the bad networking.
Jab, while I agree there’s no excuse for the state of favour points, you don’t need to feel like you’re at a disadvantage. There are lots and lots of builds out there that rely on the cheaper items, especially the speed anklet and Blade of the Serpent.
Don’t understand why Stardock would have an expiration date on codes that would translate into sales, but smarter people than me make those decisions. Maybe one day I’ll pick it up.
I definitely appreciate SD working hard to get this game working well. Still a bit frustrated it’s taking so long, but I imagine they are even more frustrated than I. :)
Save your favor points, get the Blood of the Fallen, use it every game. It’s the best favor item hands down for every non-DPS demigod. With Beast and other DPS demigods, get either Blood of the Fallen, Serpent Blade, or Mard’s Hammer, depending on your matchup.
I have a few requests:
When hosting/joining a custom game, I’d like to see everyone’s rank, what their disconnect percentage is, and what their rage-quit percentage is (I take it this & the disconnect% is the same thing right now?)
When obviously losing a match, I’d like the ability to concede.
When getting stuck with AI allies, for whatever reason, I’d like to be able to click a button that makes them go home to the health crystal and stay there.
Finally, I’d like a Porsche and a beer pipeline, thank you.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and fix the pathfinding already.

Brad…what’s up with your post at gpgnet:
The one thing about Demigod that is different than most games is that it has a long post-release plan. By that I mean post release updates are funded so it’s not like there will be a couple of patches and then the game is done. There will be updates to Demigod for a long while.
Then on demigodthegame forums you state:
Well based on what I read here it sounds like there’s little point in expending more resources on this game and we should all just move on.
Is that what I’m hearing here?
I mean, if people are ready to move on, why should we hang around? We can certainly oblige with another patch or two to make sure MP works as it should have on day 1 IMO but beyond that?
GPG’s working on SupCom 2. Stardock has Elemental. Sounds to me you’re making the argument that we should just cut bait and move on.
and you say later in the thread:
But I won’t kid you, the budget for extra content and features comes from sales. The game has sold pretty well but if it’s all doom and gloom like it sounds like from reading the comments then that budget can be transferred to other projects.
A little doom & gloom?

Do you have the link to these discussions? I’d love to read it.

As someone who bought the game I’d like to voice my support for funded continued support for a game that received good enough sales to fund said support. Don’t punish everyone for some internet pessimist fuckwads, how do you know they even bought the game?

Seems manipulative to me. “Well, if you guys think it’s so bad, I guess we can just stop patching it. Oh if only people liked the game.”

I read that as sarcasm towards the people complaining. I didnt’ think Brad was seriously saying that because people were whining they were thinking of pulling support. I believe he’s more professional than that.
having said that, I’ve been wrong on internet things before ;)

I don’t think it was much of a real threat either, but saying it seems kind of a cheap way to drum up “DON’T STOP PATCHING! WE LOVE DEMIGOD! I PLAY IT EVERYDAY!” posts.
I could just be excessively grumpy, but that left a bad taste in my mouth. Brain. Mouthbrain.
Don’t sweat it, Brad’s 13 year old son was in the thread and needed a little talking to. Don’t sass him or he’ll turn the car around.
Pantheon/skirmish games are still messed up. It seems to me that games where nobody get dropped happen only about 20% of the time, maybe less. And to make matters worse, even terminating DG while the game is loading and there’s a “a player has left” message, makes the game count as a loss. It might be less of a pain if the AI didn’t suck quite so hard, but as it is, games with AIs in them are no fun for anyone involved.
Also, how about releasing stuff to help players design levels and demigods? If you did it you could maybe offer the highest ranked players some sort of incentive to test them out.
Finally, replay. I want. Not just for the cool factor. It’s not always obvious to me why I lose. Replays would help a lot.

My favor points are still bugged, which is annoying. I’m stuck with the one item I purchased, and 140 favor points that I always have in each game.
Is there any way to kill an Oak with HoL? Anyone?
teamwork seems to be the only thing I’ve found. lots of stunning makes up for the free healing sometimes.
Oak really seems to have quite a few things going on for him that can be overpowered when exploited. Overall he doens’t seem crazy good though.
his flying minions can be a real hassle on some maps if you send them straight after the enemy citadel from the start and just keep doing it.
last stand is a bit too good for building removal.
shield + HoL is definitely a bit much. I think all healing should be halted while shielded (except perhaps Sedna heals)
Sarcasm is an unappreciated skill online.
The point I was making in that discussion was that the people in that thread want to have their cake and eat it too.
They want to help spread doom and gloom but they still want us to spend huge development resources at Stardock on a game we don’t own (GPG owns Demigod).
People (like people here on qt3) read a discussion like that and might think "Well, the game is dead, I guess I won’t buy it). So what they’re doing is counter productive to their own goals.
