Democratic anti-Americanism at its all-time height

“We’d like to give you more info, but we don’t have the eyes for it.” Instead we will just speculate and waste hours upon hours of time showing stagnant camera views and replaying the plethora of exciting siren sounds we have looped here at the studio.

Why don’t you do something else instead, like… oh, I don’t know… let me think… play video games?

Anything interesting that happens will be looped ad nauseam anyway, so it’s not like you’ll be missing anything. VIVA LA TIVOLUCION!

Actually I was at work. So I heard them describe on the radio the nothingness on the TV. Now that I am at home…It’s time for Juliya on Uranium on the Much Music channel. Hooray for Canada!

O’Reilly’s not even remotely objective. Seen that transcript where he shouts down Jeremy Glick and cuts off his mike?

“Anti-American,” to me, seems to be the current conservative effort to stifle free discussion of the issues.

I love this accusation, based on the media’s refusal to cover the peace protestors’ side of the war debate I assume? Problem with this is when you actually ask these people to explain their positions they usually don’t have anything more complex to say than what we’ve already read on their tee-shirt. There are a couple legitimate arguments against, fairly simple and strait forward which can be covered pretty quickly. The argument for going to war simply encompasses a lot more aspects and is simply more complex. It’s unreasonable to expect equal time if that requires one side to say the same thing over and over again to fill time.

And it’s not like the dissent isn’t getting lots of face time. I got to watch hours of team coverage tonight of the peace protestors in Portland tying up traffic, clashing with the police, McDonald’s getting its windows smashed and the like. The celebrities opposed to the war certainly get attention, probably more than they deserve.

Support the troops! is about as complex as most people get. You speciously compare idiot anti-war people who don’t think beyond their t-shirts to “complex” thinking pro-war folk when most pro war people are as stupid as anyone else. Doesn’t take much thinking to say “yes sir!” when the president tells you what to do when everyone is trained to respect authority.

You’ll notice “support the troops” isn’t an argument for going to war which is what I was talking about.

Sure, there are stupid pro-war people, but they aren’t in the streets, blocking traffic and demanding that their voices be heard!

Why would they be in the streets protesting when they agree with what the government is doing. Just to be the Devil’s Advocate.

Maybe for the same reason that they’re jamming the streets in Toronto, when they agree with what the government is doing – because it’s become a fun party, where they can hang out and babble hippy-speak, pick up gals, and instill some misguided sense of purpose into their lives? They are representatives of the saying "if you’re in your 20s and not a liberal, you have no heart; if you’re in your 30s and still a liberal, you have no brain.

They are starring in their own romantic movie, where they see themselves as the reborn hippies of the new millenium. Praise Allah/the Lord/Buddha that they’re in a country where they’re entitled to participate in open demonstrations of their choice, even if the ironic result of their protests would be to ensure that others are denied similar rights.

Can’t argue with logic like that.

Perhaps if it resembled our Earth logic the effort wouldn’t be so futile.

If I’ve managed to piss you off, then it’s all been worth it.

Obviously your time isn’t worth very much. I have to admit I am enjoying exposing the foolishness of you various positions. But I wouldn’t say you’ve “pissed me off”. That would, of course, require my caring.

Let’s have a contest to see who cares less! Whomever responds to the other first (after this charming post, of course!) loses.

Okay… go!

That’s a damn good thread killer. I gotta remember that one.

Nothing that Daschle said is any worse than the words of Tom Delay in the Kosovo debate - and I recall Republicans making wag the dog charges over Iraq in 1998.

The liberal media myth doesn’t go very far when you look into where people get their news, either. Yeah, Hollywood’s liberal and Bill Moyers. None of the 24 hour news stations are bastions of socialism for God’s sake. Didn’t MSNBC just hire that Savage nutjob? Can anyone point to a strong liberal bias in network broadcasts?
