The stuff about Biden and Anita Hill is interesting. Setting aside that it was perhaps the worst thing he’s done[*], the fact is that Republicans aren’t likely to see it that way, it it’s hard to imagine any Republican line of attack based on it.
What will Republicans say, that Joe Biden was mean to Anita Hill so that he could shepherd that legal monster Clarence Thomas onto the Court?
I can see attacks like that from Democrats in the primaries, but I don’t think it is something that can be used very effectively against him in the general. I guess possibly by fake Democrat trolls and fake Facebook accounts or something, but I don’t see any actual Republicans attacking him on it with much success.
[*] For me it was very, very bad, perhaps unforgivable. He’s an old man with gender attitudes formed a long time ago, and it’s perfectly clear he never took Hill seriously because she was a woman. Maybe he’s learned or evolved, but I don’t know that he’s ever even acknowledged that it was bad.

LOL whut? The Trump party (which is what Republicans are now) will attack military families. You think they’ll stop to consider the ramifications of attacking Biden over this? There is no depth to which they won’t sink to win.
Not to mention they don’t even have to do the attack themselves. All the have to do is remind a journalist about it from time to time and the media will carry their water for them.
I’m not saying they’ll refrain out if goodness or respect or whatever. I’m asking what the actual attack is that doesn’t double as an attack on Thomas.
Yes, I mentioned that possibility, lolwhat.

Republican talking head: Don’t forget how he treated Anita Hill! That was shameful.
Everyone else on the panel: …
Message delivered.
That’s a content-free attack. Most people won’t even know what the talking head is talking about. In this focus group, they had to explain the entire thing to provoke a negative reaction. I can’t see Republicans explaining that Anita Hill made credible allegations of sexual harassment and mean Joe Biden ignored her and called her a liar so he could help that sexist bastard Thomas onto the court.

I don’t understand why you think that will be an impediment.
In the primaries it’ll be other Democrats bringing it up.
If he wins the nomination, Republicans will try anything and everything. Anita Hill will absolutely be on the table. Thomas is a Supreme Court Justice for life. Better to malign him than end up with a Democratic President.
I don’t understand why you think it won’t.
Democratic talking head: What did he do, grab Anita by the pussy?

The modern Republican party is not constrained by irony or shame. They have proven time and time again they will do anything to win, most vigorously in the Presidential election.
We have a President who praises dictators and has, at minimum, a cozy relationship with Russia. His supporters and the Republican Party support it.
We have a President who has declared a national emergency to fund the government to proceed with eminent domain cases to take land from Americans. The Republican Party supports it.
We have a President who says that we have to have a “zero tolerance policy” for immigrants seeking asylum, and thus we have to separate families and put children in cages, yet most Americans, including half of Republicans, think that the President committed crimes before taking office and shrug.
We have a President who attacked Barack Obama for taking vacation, but who spends most of his time on his private golf course or simply doing nothing. The Republican Party supports it.
We have a President who attacked a Gold Star family and war hero John McCain. The Republican Party and his supporters shrug.
We have a President who brought Bill Clinton’s accusers to a Presidential debate, at the same exact time as he was being accused of sexual assault.
You think a little contradiction with Anita Hill will stop them?
Who said they were? I don’t think they’ll be able to craft an effective attack on this issue, and you think they will. We disagree.

Well hold on. I never said the attack would be effective. I said they would make an attack. I no longer trust my own instincts about what will be effective and what won’t.
Fair enough, I meant effective but I see now I didn’t make that clear.
I wouldn’t hate a Biden/Harris ticket. Not what I dreamed of, but honestly, anything to get Trump out at this point. This isn’t even a lesser of two evils either. This is evil vs possibly ineffective centrist that won’t stand in the way of most liberal legislation coming their way.
I also think electability is the key here too. I want someone at the top of the ticket that will drive democratic voters to the polls so that we can win some seats in congress, and local elections as well.
If Biden runs, I might support Harris as the electable half-progressive , more ruthless Dem just to stop Biden.
I don’t want a centrist period.
No more septuagenarians plz ty.

I agree, other than if it is the means with which to defeat Trump. I’m very much on the “Any Functioning Adult 2020” bandwagon.
I like Biden but I think he is a poor choice. We’ll see what the electorate has to say about it, though.
He made several media rounds about it over the years to address the criticism, most recently last September. He knows he screwed up and has admitted as much, but the apologies often unfortunately get minced in with half-explanations/rationalizations.
