Deponia is a fast-paced comedy of errors and one of the most unusual love stories in gaming history. The twist-filled story takes its off-beat characters all over trash planet Deponia, a unique game world in the style of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening. From Kuvaq, an improvised village built inside a giant trash heap, to the swimming black market and the dark corners of the elevated planetary railways: The new adventure game from the makers of The Whispered World, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout and A New Beginning is brought to life with detailed hand-painted backgrounds in widescreen format and top-quality cartoon animation.
Recently popped up on Steam. Getting pretty good reviews for the most part (Escapist likes it, for one) and I’m probably 80% done with it. Until just now, I was having a great time playing this game.
Mine bike issues
Now I’m stuck at a certain point and even breaking down and looking at walkthroughs is not helping.
I installed the Avial Power Inverter in the Mine Bike and the Bi-Nausal Power Inverter in the Maintenance Hatch. In the Control Center, I set the yellow lever to the right, the red lever to the middle, the green lever to the right, the left switch to green (middle position) and the right switch to red (right position).
Rufus exclaims, “Now we’re really going places!” (etc.) and takes off, running over the the Organon soldiers at the entrance to the rail track, but then the Mine Bike turns around and arrives back at the Control Center.
I’ve tried the above with a few different lever and switch positions, all of which result in either him not leaving at all or him leaving, running over the soldiers, and coming back to the Control Center again.
Finally I decided to consult walkthroughs, which I hate doing. I loaded an older save and went through everything all over again. This video cap illustrates a working scenario and although I’ve painstakingly repeated my efforts from a blank slate following that, I’m not getting the same result he does. Kinda frustrated.
