w00t. Congrats! My main is only 565 or something. And apparently the it’s a slog from 560 on. I did get a full set of Dreaming City armor for my Warlock, though- I need that for a quest. I like the look of the Tangled Shore stuff better, though- that cyber ronin thing with the man-bun looking thing on the helmet is rad.

I got the light-level 600 “Horror Story” autorifle from the Festival of the Lost event, that made all the difference. I was 526 and that weapon alone took my max power to 535 right away, but more importantly it sort of skewed all subsequent drops to be higher. I was almost 580 by the end of that three week event.

Yeah, I saw that and figured it out real quick. I made damn sure I got it. I’m also trying to log in every day just to hit up the Spider for a couple Cores so I can upgrade stuff I actually like instead of relying on drops.

nice! that armor is awesome. i feel like ive been stuck in the 530s for about a week.

Nice site to track your progress.

Also; Getting vehicles into missions they’re not supposed to be inside is still fun :)

Thats a sexy site, I say.

Need 28 wins in Iron Banner today… gonna be a long grind/stream.

Good start today though: Left a IB match early cause we were facing a 6 stack premade, joined a gambit match 10 seconds before my team won, and got an exotic bow as reward… lol.

Two weeks later and I’m in spitting distance of 600 on my Warlock- 597. I finished up all the daily/weekly activities (except Nightfalls and Raids, of course) for powerful gear- yeah, I even forced myself through the tedious Heroic Story Missions.

The last one dropped a 600 piece, so I should make it in the next week, given a little luck. Of course the piece in question was another Primary weapon (the one category I already had a 600 piece in- the Horror Story I got during the Halloween event), but them’s the breaks. At least it was a Hand Cannon- I’ve been working the Ace of Spades quest off and on and it should be good for that. In that vein, I also got a Catalyst for my Exotic Sniper, but I have to kill 450 enemies (150 in three different colors- is the Borealis) to activate it. That seems tedious.

The last bit of content I want to get through is the “Shattered Throne” dungeon, now that I’ll leveled for it. I think it would be showing up this coming week after the reset? Then I might put the game down for a while.

What platform are you on?

Xbox.

Ah, bummer, I’d like to try the Shattered Throne too but I’m on PC now. I mean, technically I have a copy of D2 for Xbox as well, but I never even finished the original campaign there.

If you’re on PC try the Destiny 2 LFG Discord to find a SHattered Throne group.

A lot of people know it by heart by now, so should be fairly successful run I’d think. Do not forget to pickup the eggs and lore items in there if you need those for completion (But fun fact, if you’ve done some of the lore items on another character you wont see them on this one, but the triumph requires them all to be done on same character so you will be SOL… like me, so gg…). The end fight might could be a bit time consuming though. If you have the full Dreaming City gear, you’ll get an achievement for completing it wearing that.

Why the game doesn’t have LFG/Matchmaking… is the same reason they do not offer fair fights in pvp (i.e. solos vs solos, stacks vs stacks instead of stacks vs solos…). "Bungie hates you"™.

I wish Bungie and other companies would introduce cross platform progression. Microsoft certainly seems to be open to the idea. Just implementing it for Destiny might force Sony to go beyond just Fortnite.

Yeah, it’s a shame you have to have three separate, unconnected accounts. I assume at least some of that is that Sony gets timed exclusives (usually a year) for the games.

Bungie released info on the first mini-expansion, Black Armoury, to be released next week. I read an article on Polygon about it. Tl:dr (it’s actually pretty short, though), a new Horde defense mode that gets you new weapons and Mods from the aforementioned Armory (that you have to gather materials from across the system just to activate?), a new Raid set in abandoned parts of the Last City. That’s about it. I’m glad I didn’t spring for this.

They’ve been talking about new Pinnacle weapons you have to grind for/to activate, one each designed for Crucible/Gambit/PvE, that will be available without the expansion, too. But I’m not really interested in these, either.

I don’t know, $35 for the annual pass (all three of those “mini-expansions”) doesn’t seem that bad to me.

It’s kind of a shame they don’t just go to a subscription model, and I guess it feels a little dirty that that’s basically what they’re extracting from people while presenting the content as optional. I can see why that would rub people the wrong way.

But as far as the actual cost if you buy in, that’s like $3 a month to stay current on Destiny for the next full year. I’m sold.

Eh. I get bored of it easily- I’ve been playing steadily for two months or so, and that’s about my limit. I like the exploration and seeing new things- a bunch of guns and a horde mode doesn’t particularly interest me, and certainly isn’t enough to the me over for the next 4-6 months until the next mini expansion. I’m just not a “one game kinda guy”, you know? However much these companies want me to be.

Based on my available time I might be able to get one of those weapons, I’m assuming they are season exclusive so I guess the other two will be out of bounds afterwards, in addition to one requiring participating in the most rage inducing pvp mode ever created - ‘competitive’.

This, so much this. I got through the first several steps of the Ace of Spades quest. Then I hit the Crucible step. This requires 25 headshot kills in PvP with a Hand Cannon. Whelp. Looks like that quest will be sitting in my inventory forever. I mean, I could see 25 headshots. Or just 25 kills. But both at the same time? With these kids jumping and sliding around like spastic sea otters while one-shotting me with just about everything they have handy? Nope.

I do like the Gambit mode somewhat- I feel like a horde mode is somewhat redundant after this. I’m getting used to saving my super and taking out invading players as soon as I see them. And I’ve got a nice kit going for it- using the Karstien Gauntlets on my Warlock with the healing circle means I almost never lose motes. For weapons, I’ve been going with a cool bow for high-damage precision (exploding!) shots and an incredibly-accurate Tigerspite autorifle modded to do extra damage against mooks for clearing out crowds. At this I’m pretty regularly the top couple players on whatever team of randos I’m on.
