If you’re about to get the expansion for Destiny or something, let me know on PS4 and I can hook you up with a invite code that will give us both some extra stuff (Shader, Sword, Emblem). We have to do a bunch of content together, And you need to hit level 40 so we can complete it, but it should be quick depending on availability.

I’m in EU GMT time zone, so the only time I can play US would be late at night or during weekends.

I’m probably a month or so from getting it. The deal I’m making with myself is to finish out the Uncharted series before I add another game to the PS4 backlog. Especially an MMO-type game.

That said my handle is BrammyH so feel free to add me anyway.

I’ve been working my way through Destiny also and so far it’s been doable. If you’re on at off hours the strikes can be hard to get people for, but all in all it’s been a lot of fun. Only up to level 14 so far and I had put it down to play some other games, but I’m looking forward to getting back to it.

Full sequel confirmed for this year (at least Activision is telling investors this).

And here’s some motivation for Bungie to hit the date.

Although some of the folks behind Destiny 2 might crave more time to add content and beef up the game, here’s an interesting bit of news to consider: If Bungie misses this year for Destiny 2, Activision is awarded a hefty chunk of the independent studio’s stock, according to two sources familiar with goings-on at Bungie.

Bungie employees’ stock vesting schedule is also based on game releases, including Destiny 2, which gives them major incentives to get the sequel out this year.
Hey it’s all good, they’ll just sell us the cut content as future DLC anyway.

Yeah, and if things get really tight, they can just strip out the story elements and have you go to a website to read about it instead. And although I’m being snarky, that actually worked out pretty well for the original Destiny. As poor as that story was, I sure as hell didn’t miss reading entries that explained things better within the game.

I’m really excited about this. The Taken King was great, and this game is being lead by the same guy. I think Destiny was close to being great, and Bungie just needed a do-over. This could be something special.

Bungie reveals a bit about character carry-forward in Destiny 2.

Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more. This led us to a decision that would enable us to serve both the game and the player’s best interests: Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.

We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you’ve created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization. We are going to recognize the dedication and passion you’ve shown for this world. Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward. We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments.
I have never really understood the obsession of a group of people with having character persistence to Destiny 2. Destiny 1 has been a great adventure, but a new game is good moment to start a new adventure. We ended killing gods in Destiny 1. What people want to start killing in Destiny 2? Meta-gods? I pray Bungie manage to put in the new game the secret spark of awesome that made the Destiny 1 experience so memorable and part of a lot of people life.

More and better matchmaking would make D2 better than D1.

I guess I should finish the last few achievs in D2 before D1 is out… so as to not miss out on something,… even though that means I have to do the fking raid a bunch of times; maybe there has been a light level bump so it is even easier now, was such a chore getting a group going for hardmode/achievements. Now I guess most people not doing them anymore.

Oh well.

Anyone else still playing (xb1)?

I like the Age of Triumph book, and I’ve really enjoyed going back through the old quests/stories while levelling a Hunter up to 40, and I’m trying to get to the 380/390 light for Trials of Osiris, etc.

Did anyone join any clans which are still active? I’d like to do the rest of the Raids, and it would probably be nice to get the clan achievements. I’d rather play with OO/GT/qt3’ers however.

I haven’t played in months but I’ve been thinking about getting back in and trying out the latest expansion before the sequel hits. I used to be a member of a clan but I couldn’t really hang with those guys, they had the raid processes down to a science and I just muddled through as best I could. I generally found the raids felt more like work and stuck to strikes and normal missions.

I tried to play Age of Triumph, but bounced on the surface.

The game is better than ever*, and I like some of the things they have done (but feels like a huge random mashup) but I can’t … give… more… Is pure exhaustion.

I am also reserving some sauce for Destiny 2 Beta and Destiny 2.

* Expcept PvP, fuck shotguns

I been meaning to return to complete the Age of Triumph so I can get everything done before Destiny 2…
on PS4.

Probably have to get back on reddit and find a fireteam for the Raid+Specials, I did them no problem first weeks they were out (normal raid) but haven’t bothered with hardmode or challenge.

Had some absolutely amazing Supremacy matches during the Iron Banner event last week. Lots of close games with big comebacks decided in the final seconds, etc. I’m not very good at PvP (usually have a K/D ratio between .6-1.0), but the Supremacy game type rewards teamwork. I was even able to get the Iron Banner Rank 5 quest/bounty completed.

I’m psyched for Destiny 2, but I also realize I didn’t come in until the Taken King expansion, and from some reading, they really ironed out some stuff by then. Definitely get that one if you are playing this and don’t have it, or just starting. Rise of Iron is strictly for Level 40 characters (or thereabouts).

Still thinking about a clan for the raids, etc. but I’ve never, ever been in an MMO Clan, and don’t really know what to look for, etc.

Some notes on Age of Triumph and other stuff which will carry over, and deadlines for achievement to do so:

Emblems:

Fair warning for those of you who joined us in progress: Some of these emblems have been reserved for Guardians who stood together during specific, triumphant moments in time. In the literal sense of the word, the four emblems that fall into that category are strictly about commemorating and respecting the deeds of those who were there with us at the beginning of our first and second year of adventures. Two, however, are still actively achievable as part of the Age of Triumph record book, and one is tied directly to your still malleable Grimoire score.

We’ll be tracking the deeds associated with these rewards until August 1, 2017. After that, the data will be frozen in time so we can begin the migration process for the launch of Destiny 2.

T-Shirt:

Securing Your Age of Triumph Shirt
You have until August 1, 2017 to reach Rank 7 and unlock the discounted offer to claim your Age of Triumph Shirt. While they will not be their last occurrences, you might need to complete some of these activities to be counted in your Age of Triumph Record Book.

I need to step up my game to finish that Age of Triumph thing.

Ah, Iron Banner July 4th, good. Then I can finish the reputation part.

Warlock/Titan quests requires me to finish some really shitty PVP objectives (to complete the sub-class quests)… Grenade, Melee and special kills… takes ages.

I reinstalled Destiny over the weekend and played through the Rise of Steel content, which I had forgotten I bought. And I’m still pretty burned out. I mean, it was good in that “More Destiny” kind of way but there wasn’t really anything new going on there. The campaign was more “run here, shoot that guy while nameless dudes yammer in your ear”, the strike was a lot like the other strikes, I still hate the Crucible, and so on. Pretty sure I’m passing on Destiny 2, at least until it’s been around a while.

Did you get any pushback from the campaign missions? Or was it all easy enough to get through without many deaths?

My favorite moments in the original Destiny campaign are still the ones that really pushed back hard. I remember doing the mission where you first meet the Geth (or whatever the robot forces are called in Destiny) dozens and dozens of times. It was fun each time, and I died in different ways. It reminded me of the best moments of Halo on Heroic or Legendary when it pushed back so hard, and yet, going back to a checkpoint resulted in dynamic fights that always played out differently. Same deal here. It’s what Bungie is so good at.

(Comments above do not apply for Destiny campaign after the first expansion was released and their difficulty re-adjustment, which is why I’m asking).
