I just got home. Everything is sluggish. It took forever to purchase the half off Sunset Overdrive. Then it took forever to start Hulu Plus. Then Destiny keeps telling me I have to connect to Xbox Live to play Destiny.
sigh.
I snapped Hulu Plus to the side and started watching Top Gear’s World’s Worst Car Special. On the Destiny side I just kept trying to connect.
And eventually I got through! Downloading an update now.

Yep. PSN is toast. I bet is all a M$ conspiracy. Clearly they knocked out their own service to shift blame off themselves, but I am not fooled.
It is a bit of a nightmare, trying to play this. I managed to get to the end of the mission when a friend joined my game. As soon as he joined it booted me back to orbit. When I joined his game (he was still at the end waiting for me), it booted me back to orbit again. I had to reconnect to Destiny servers from the main screen three times before it let me join him again (2 ascendant shards yay)!
And since then I’ve been trying to get to the Tower. First with my friend, then on my own. This is so boring. I just want to check out what Xur has once before I start playing Elite: Dangerous. But it might be a fool’s errand tonight.

We understand that Xur has been hard to reach for a lot of you this weekend, so we’re going to extend his stay. Our current plan is to allow him to remain in the Tower with his current inventory until Monday night at 10pm PST, just before the weekly reset. We’ll also keep an eye on the overall situation, and prolong the extension, as needed, for as long as is feasible.
Next week, Xur will return to his regular schedule, with refreshed inventory.

Is this game any good on ps3 or 360? I’m feeling the itch, and they’re on sale right now for all platforms. I don’t have either of the next gen ones, though, so I’m curious.
Yup, it plays pretty well everywhere. And there’s no cross platform play, but if you eventually upgrade within the same company (go from PS3 to PS4, or 360 to XBONE), your characters and progress carry across generations.
Yeah, I caught the upgrade-ability, and frankly don’t know what platform I’d upgrade to if I did, but wanted to make sure it wasn’t gimped in the way that, say Shadows of Mordor is. Or even with just absolutely atrocious (unplayable) frame rates.

Anyone on ps4 want to do a weekly heroic strike or nightfall strike Monday around 2:30 pst? I know you all have already done them most likely hut I have an exotic bounty requiring one and my 29 hunter isn’t quite where he can solo either
Sheesh, still no PSN for me even though the website says it’s “online”. I miss Destiny and I hope I can connect before the DA:I sale ends. :(

Only thing I know, is that it takes about 30 seconds to open the inventory on last-gen. Its a very game fun overall, so I imagine that is translated well to last-gen.
On next-gen theres still very few games worth playing, so is a easier decision. A destiny ps4 bundle is a beautiful thing.
This game can generate some downright batshit loot stories. It’s part of the reason I love it.

Purchased patience and time from xur when he had it up last week. Same day I ran a nightfall and guess what dropped? Patience and Time.

Went months without getting an exotic bounty. In the last two weeks I’ve gotten three.

My first (and only) exotic weapon for what seemed like forever was the Multi-Tool purchased from Xur. First day I logged in to play the new content from the Dark Below, Red Death (exo pulse rifle) dropped from the nightfall, and I looted Hard Light (exo autorifle) from the first chest in Crota’s End.

Found two legendary engrams from random drops while doing patrols this morning, about an hour apart. That’s uncommon enough to begin with, then both decrypted to the same legendary sniper rifle. Not quite as exciting as stealing exotics from merryprankster, but yeah, random things are weird.

Did VoG two times this weekend. Got Patience & Time (I bought it from Xu), vex mythoclast and two chest pieces at the same time.
I have learned that the game is out there to troll me. It still surprise me with their trolling loot tables (like no-engram, no-heavyammo, worst weapon in the game the day after xmax).
Its a game that make you wait 1 mont to get a helmet, then it gives you that helmet 2 times in a row, or 2 from the same chest.
I’ve had the Icebreaker for about a week. I know this has been obvious for months, but “infinite” ammo on something that hits that hard really does set that gun in a class by itself. Doing Defend the Warmind and The Wakening (the second and third of the story missions in The Dark Below) solo on heroic goes from being a drawn out ordeal burning through heavy ammo synthesis to something much more manageable, especially with the solar damage on IB against those Wakers.
Also, I converted my Gjallarhorn to the new damage levels from Xûr late Saturday night (resetting the upgrade progress), and in about 48 hours I’ve almost maxed it out again. So that’s nice.
