Has anybody played/beaten HM Crota yet? I have given it a few tries but to no avail yet. Seems everything just needs to go perfectly. Nobody dying. Everybody timing their damage on Crota perfectly, having no glitches. Or maybe it’s just the teams I’ve joined wherein we just suck.

The first two/three sections are easy enough to do. It’s just the Crota fight that is difficult with the whole no chalice, no revive, no healing, oversoul upon death and oversoul/enrage at sub-20%. The last thing is especially annoying since you kind of have to hold back a bit just to make sure you don’t take his health down too low and enrage him.

And Xur needs to sell upgrades for Red Death and the Warlock health regeneration helm already again. It’s been like a month since he has had either of them and I didn’t have the glimmer to upgrade them then. Not that I have it right now either but I should by the time he rolls around again. It’s really making me hate him much more and especially this exotic upgrade system.

I’ve beaten HM crota once, it wasn’t that hard with people who knew what they were doing and who could direct folks like me (32, Gjallahorn, good at following directions) through it. Don’t think I would have been the right player for a first day attempt tho. I got Glowhoo and shards, no Word for me. Will probably do it a second time this week.

Easier said than done honestly. Cause while one of the groups I did it was terrible the others really weren’t. Just stupid things happened that would just prevent us from getting over the hump. Maybe one of us died in the first room. Or the boomers didn’t get distracted for some reason. Or Crota decided he wanted to cheese us by not kneeling down at all or going down and getting back up. Or he decided he would go to each side faster than normal. And the one that kind of annoys me the most was when after two swords we got him down to 15% so he gets to do his enrage/oversoul. Thanks Bungie, we did too much damage but not enough to kill him so we get screwed.

Anyways, new NF/Weekly is up. It’s Archon Priest with all Burns for the Nightfall again and Void for the Weekly.

The raid is the part of the game that really stress parts of the game that really are not up to the task.

When syncronization are important, if half the team have 500ms of lag or more, what players will see is not what is happening, so they are doomed. On Crota Hard is very important that the blade player is the one that host the game, so when he see crota down is because crota is down. In a random team the blade player is random, and more often than not the host will be a different person.

It will be different if the game had less a emphasys on p2p netcode or the encounters where designed less around pure timing.

I’ve never seen any kind of network wonkiness in Destiny at all, in the PvE aspects of the game.

In the PvP part, it’s much more obvious, as you’ll punch someone and they’ll die a second later… but in the PvE part, I’ve never noticed lag playing any detrimental role. I guess that what you’re saying here must be true to some extent, but it’s not something I’ve ever considered playing a meaningful role in the outcome of the game.

I’ve seen lag with players, but I’ve never noticed lag with non-player enemies in the game.

Well, lucky you. It may depend on your connection and the connection of the people you play with. So if you and your friends have some good internet, it may be less noticeable. I am talking here about the raid, normal pve is different.

I tried doing the hardest difficulty weekly strike. Bah, 3 hours later, I finally got to the final boss, but ran out of time, had to quit and go to sleep. I should have just started on the second hardest difficulty and not gotten greedy, thinking I could do it by myself.

A couple of my friends did hop online in Destiny during the mission, giving me hope for some help, but they didn’t accept my invites and ended up doing Crota, it looked like.

I really just want two more strange coins before Xur goes away so that I can upgrade my favorite weapon. The Mida Multitool. Hopefully I’ll have some time to play tonight after work. That way maybe I’ll just do the weekly on the lowest difficulty for 3 strange coins.

I’m on Xbox, yeah. My wife will go out within the next hour, so I’ll fire it up then, maybe with one friend to help me, if he happens to be on. So I’ll have room for one more, or two more if anyone else on Xbox hasn’t done the weekly yet.

Did the Weekly on Hardest with my friend, 9 strange coins, converted to Exotic shard, converted to one upgraded Mida Multitool. Woooooooo!! I can’t wait to level this puppy up again. Just the act of level up should be a ton of fun again. I hope the weekly strike next is non-expansion again.

Yes. But most days when I fire it up, the Daily mission seems to be locked, or the weekly is locked. (I don’t own the expansion). So end up staying away more than I used to. It’s still my go-to shooter for when I want to watch the Daily Show, or a sitcom like Mindy Project or Parks and Rec or Brooklyn Ninety Nine. (Split view on the Xbox).

I’m still playing. But I noticed most of the Qt3ers that I usually saw have stopped. I’m kind of just treading water at this point. Waiting for The Order, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3 to come out. I have now already beaten CE on hard so I have done everything in the game and I’m just playing cause I see a friend or two also playing just to randomly shoot things with them.

I’m still playing every day. I have 3 32’s but I’m still rounding out my raid sets, leveling up weapons and chasing exotics.

I’ll probably burn out if House of Wolves is more than a couple of months away.

Bungie said HoW is coming out in Q2 and I think somebody datamined the date as somewhere in mid-May. I’m probably stopping soon and will just start it up again with HoW if my friends are interested again.

I’m still logging in for Nightfalls on all three characters, and ideally, Crota’s End on normal for all three characters. But I’m basically out of reasons to play daily. I have a Warlock at level 32, a Hunter with enough raid gear to hit 32 that’s still missing a lot of material to level it up (I think I actually have enough Radiant Materials, but I’m held back by the Hunter-specific Sapphire Wire, which means a lot of Roc Strikes for engrams), and a Titan at 31 with no raid gear.

I have almost zero interest in Crota’s End on hard mode. I think they did a poor job balancing the difficulty of that against the weapons offered as potential rewards. If in the long run some of those guns turn out to be more desirable, I’ll just get them after the next expansion when I’m higher level anyway.

So really, there’s not a great reason to even bother getting my Hunter and Titan from 31 to 32, but I just set that as a sort of personal goal. I have every almost every useful Exotic item, not much incentive to look for anything else.

I’ll definitely be back “full time” for House of Wolves since I already paid for it. And theoretically, I’m on board for future expansions as well. I’ve certainly gotten much more than my money’s worth out of the game, and even if each new expansion is only a month or two of new content, that’s reason enough to keep me coming back.

If anyone ever wants help on PS4, I’m still happy to jump on most nights to run a raid or a Nightfall or whatever, but I’m not blocking out a chunk of time every night for Destiny, so I might need a little bit of advance notice.

Yeah. I’m off the Destiny treadmill as well. Great game, but at 32 light with most of the meaningful game in the gear there just isn’t much reason to play anymore. I’m happy to help out though so feel free to message me even if I’m not actually in Destiny.
