You are going to love it. I recommend one per toon personally. =)

Is anyone else starting to get kind of bored of Destiny?
I played the shit out of this game, but I’m starting to lose interest.

Need some help leveling my lvl 30 Hunter:
Xbox One: http://destinystatus.com/xbl/Delistick
I need to get up to 32 – what is the quickest way?
I can spend resources increasing the light on my armour – but will that be a waste? I need to get new raid armour anyways, don’t I? do I even have any raid armour? how does one tell?
thanks
Upgrade all your gear to 33 light (which will raise you light level to 31) and replace any that doesn’t max at 33 light. No need to worry about wasted mats since the raid armor uses different mats. Doesn’t look to me like you have any raid gear yet, which only drops in the Crota raid.
Once you are 31 light start doing the Crota raid every week until you have the gear and enough mats to get to 32.
Job done.
To get to 32, you need four pieces of gear with level 36 light level (maxed out, of course). One of those can be an exotic, the other three have to come from the Crota’s End raid. The raid gear is the only legendary gear with a maximum light level of 36, so that will let you know if you’ve already got any of what you need.
Whether you need to get to 31 along the way depends on how good the crew that you’re running Crota’s End with is, and how constrained you are on resources. It would certainly be nice to not spend any money or materials on anything but your raid gear, but you may find it worth your time if you’re having a hard time actually completing the raid. Being 31 instead of 30 will make a non-trivial difference in how well you’re able to kill things toward the end of Crota’s End.
Also, the Crota raid gear requires Radiant Shards to upgrade. You get Radiant Shards and Radiant Energy from the chests and drops in the raid (the energy is for the raid weapons), but if you end up with more than you need of one or the other, you can pay Eris to trade them out (it costs glimmer and one black wax idol for each exchange of a shard to energy or vice versa). To do this, you’ll need to get Eris’s reputation level up to 4 (the max), so make sure to hit her bounties every day you can.
Every piece of raid gear will end up costing 21 Radiant Shards to max out completely, so if you have three (plus your exotic), you’ll need 63 Radiant Shards.

Ok thanks. Does the amount of level 31 matter? (ie. is there a difference between 31.0 vs 31.5 vs 31.8)?
Right now I am 31.0 … and I think thinking I should stay that way and milk Crota and dont waste anymore resources on levelling my current armour

I just upgraded my Icebreaker with Xur… but it looks the same… did I just waste an exotic shard? wtf?
I got my ice breaker from Xur yesterday…

Yes you did waste it. The upgrade is for people who have a 300 atk capped weapon or light 30 armor from before the DLC came out.
I’m 90% sure 31.0 and 31.8 are exactly the same. I know they’re the same for the damage penalties you face against higher level enemies. I’m less certain if the slight variation in your actual “armor” stat makes a noticeable difference on how much damage you take.

Cool Destiny grouping site I came across today:
Matchmakes for you into informal clans… not bad idea
Fought Crota on Hard Mode for the first time last night. We didn’t do the whole raid, just the Crota fight. JetTone’s Swordbearer friend made it look like a cakewalk though. I think we only wiped once for some kind of fluke mistake, and the second time it was just amazingly smooth. Organization is important, but man, this raid really does come down to your swordbearer, and that still goes for normal mode too.
Didn’t get anything amazing for the HM win, but I did get my first Monte Carlo from a normal mode run yesterday. That’s a really cool looking gun I will almost never use.

We wiped twice actually. Once was due to me falling down as a Titan cause I was trying to shoot rockets too. Which I didn’t need to do at all. And the other time RYAend got killed by boomers or something trying to get back to the room. But yes, the fight really does come down to the swordbearer and organisation. I have been in many other groups in which we spent hours failing it over and over. Some groups that looked good but due to random glitching we just couldn’t beat it each time we came close. My favorite glitch I ran into was one where we all ran into the ogre room and a boomer jumped down to the bridge and shot at us and then jump back up.
As for the rest of the raid it’s pretty much straightforward and the same as normal except you have many more yellow bar enemies and everything is level 33.
I kinda want to put in the time to learn to be a good swordbearer, but finding groups to run the raid with at all is challenging enough. Where am I going to find five strangers patient enough to let me learn when someone else can probably handle it faster? I like Crota’s End more than I used to, but the Atheon fight is still much more satisfying than the Crota fight.

I tried doing the sword on normal mode on my warlock once. Did it for half an hour or so wiping over and over till I just gave up and had RYAend do it instead. You could just grab one of the swords from those swordbearers on Earth and the Moon and use that to practice. Would still need to get the timing down for the actual Crota fight but at least you’ll get used to the feel of the jump and the sword. I should take my own advice too but I just muck around when I do grab the sword doing patrols.
If I’m on tonight we can try and get a group together for HM if you want.
Yeah, it’s the timing against Crota that I don’t have a good way to practice. I’m fine carving up a Gatekeeper or two on the bridge section.
Not sure if I’ll be online tonight, but I’ll send you a message if I am.

No burn this week, pack a lunch. But good news if you happen to have gotten an Abyss Defiant from Bridge Hard Mode: The disruptor effect works on Omnigul and her wizards, so you can stun lock them from what I hear.

I’m skipping it this week unless a friend is doing it and needs help. No burn plus lightswitch just isn’t very fun for what will be a legendary weapon I will turn into two energies.

Omnigul? Is that the expansion strike again?
