I havent heard this issue before, and I had no trouble finding me way around. There are in reality relatively few areas in each chapter so it should become pretty easy for you with a little bit of effort to find your way.

He’s right that the map feels very convoluted with its multiple levels, some of which only show staircases between floors. It takes a while but eventually you actually get used to the signs that you can see in the game to get around.
Bought this last weekend with the Steam sale and I am loving the hell out of it. I echo whoever said they want Eidos Montreal to make a Shadowrun game – hells yes. 2050-2055 era, please.
Just finished. Other than the boss battles and lame endings what a great game.

I still don’t think the endings were that lame. I think the situation directly before the endings was pretty lame.

I finally finished the game last week and while I really enjoyed the first half the game it really fell flat the last half. Overall I enjoyed the game but I don’t think I will be doing another play through.
Also who the fuck ever did the animation for the game should never ever work in the industry again. I don’t know what people they think move like that but its horrible shit.
I’m still enjoying the hell out of it but you’re right about a lot of the animation. And the absurdly over-the-top bone-crunching takedowns are really out of place when you’re trying to go for stealth.

The animations on takedowns, especially a 2-person takedown, are pretty damn well done. Civilian animations though… yeah a bit stilted, actually kind of an homage to the original game.
Even after The Missing Link, I still haven’t found a particularly great DLC in any game. I’m pretty sure I could’ve skipped every one I’ve played. But this one made me realize these mini-expansions allow me to “replay” a game I wasn’t sure I wanted to play all the way through again. It’s nice to hop in and enjoy the game for a few hours without committing to another playthrough. Expansions are better, but there’s also something to be said for getting it all done in under 5 hours.
I recently finished and enjoyed the Missing Link DLC.
I appreciated that it was a stand alone mission - it feels like a nod to Metal Gear Solid 2 (without the craziness). Most of the mission is base infiltration, and the same sneaking and disabling techniques worked as in the main game. Ultra violence would probably have been effective as well, but I try to play these games with no fatalities.
I particularly appreciated the boss fight, in that it remained consistent with the previous 5-10 hours of gameplay. While you enter the final area in high alert, you can re-establish stealth rather quickly, and can even end up taking out the boss without being detected (I think there’s even an achievement for this). What was wonderful about this, is that unlike the main game, the same skills you have been building up throughout the game are effective against the final boss. This consistency was very satisfying - I most certainly did not feel let down that the boss didn’t have glowing areas or needed a unique method to disable or defeat.
The Missing Link was really good. The boss was definitely better than the ones in the regular game, but I didn’t like the fact that after I had gone to the trouble of going undetected by everyone and killing only the boss stealthily, I still had to go back and kill all of the other NPCs in the area before the game triggered the end of the mission. For some reason I felt that killing only the boss would be enough, in fact I even think that the game encouraged that at the start of the area, though I probably just misunderstood. Anyway, definitely one of the best DLCs I’ve played lately. I’m sad that apparently there won’t be any more content for the game since they’ve been silent for so long.
This is the sentiment I was hinting about in my post above. People talk about “the best DLC,” whether it’s Lair of the Shadow Broker or Minerva’s Den or whatever. They’re all fun to run through, but none of them blow me away. That’s because it’s relative. Most DLC is so bad that even these average efforts seem better by comparison.
I’d be fine if I skipped all of them. But like I said, they’re a quick way to revisit the game without playing it all the way through again.
I miss full expansions though.
He actually sounds like that!? I thought he was putting on the hoarse, throaty batman voice. I want to give the poor guy a cough lozenge.
This, but I don’t want to give him a lozenge. It’s just awesome.

That’s really… surreal. Pretty interesting conversations too, and some insight and info into doing voice work.

That was awesome. They should patch the game so that appears on the main menu if you’ve finished the game.
He’s definitely a gamer: when he was talking about how he knew the game was starting to look good, he said “I know it was a CG trailer, but…”
Haha, he turned off the hotspot highlighting when he played. What a videogame nerd!
Finished the Missing Link DLC, goodness was it a fun 10 hour run. :)
I went full on killer, the doc and the engineer dude was left standing when I was done. :D
