Double rift fragments and double legendary chances this weekend

Basically, you talk to the dude to close the rift, it counts down from 30. You stand as close as possible to the rift and click it when it hits 1. You zone into a fresh rift, with no clearing bar, but when the bar would have hit 100% the rift guardian still spawns. Free rift.

Too gimmicky. No xp/gold reward, dependent on timing, glitches the next rift in the same game if you need to open it normally. You’re better off just doing rift it forward, imo

How bout all those legs dropping tho, guys, right? I got 100% more forgotten souls yesterday!

I’ve gotten a lot of plans for stuff that I really don’t need, and more salvage fodder, but also a few decent legendaries as well.

I played about 30 minutes today on Hard, and got 8 plans to drop. I hadn’t gotten one ever in Hardcore before - something seems amiss?

sounds awesome!

Gonna play now.

I think there is bonus drop rate for a few days?

They increased plan droprates dramatically, yes. They don’t replace legendary drops, so you aren’t losing anything.

It seems like 500% leg drop rate more-so than 100%, no? I’m not complaining, just an observation. And plan drop rate has to be around 1000% haha.

The game really is much more, well I was going to say rewarding, to play now-- guess I’ll blast out the F-word, it’s just so much more fun to play with +100% dropchance.

Indeed.

Finally felt like I was getting something for all those dungeons crawls when recipes startet dropping.

Shame most of them are worse than the yellows I already own though.
Well, all of them.

So. As I mentioned earlier in the thread I played the beta, didn’t like it but bought the game and expansion recently. My point being I don’t have any experience with the game between release and ROS. My main character is a softcore Barb who has about 60 paragon points right now. I ran 3 T2 rifts tonight and got 2 oranges and 1 green. None were upgrades. That seems pretty shitty to me, especially considering the buff going on right now for the 2nd anniversary of the game’s release. I think they need to massively up the drop rate. Also I am broke as hell trying to upgrade rubies and diamonds. Meanwhile I am swimming in 200 or so Marquis and Imperial Amethyst, Topaz and Emeralds. They need to put in a mechanic to swap gems, even at like an absurd 10 to 1 exchange rate I would be thrilled.

I got a plan and 6 legendaries tonight in 2 hours. It’s a lot better than it used to be. I played to level 35 at release and finished the campaign. I never played it again until RoS and since RoS I started and have taken a DH to Paragon 210. The feel of the game and its Loot 2.0 is SO much better than with RMAH that maybe you missed on the excruciating PITAness of that.

However, maps are still blandly repetitive, moreso than Torchlight 2.

Yeah, I look forward to logging in for a few minutes to run a rift or some bounties when I expect I’ll probably get an item for my time. I still almost certainly won’t get a useful item (I was out of souls when the bonus went in; now I’m over two dozen but I’m still wearing the same gear), but it’s nice to at least see the orange drop.

I agree with you, but if Tom sees your post you risk being banned you know.

Yeah, the problem is that only some legendary items feel that way. The rest are misnomers. I mean, having a leg that squeals or has an aesthetic bleed effect is just asinine to me. Add that on top of useful stats, not in place of them.

Crafting is even worse. You could farm for hours to get the mats, and then craft the item, or 2-3 of them, and get not a single useful stat. Just happened to me with Aughilds set. I crafted 5 so far, and only 2 had a damage stat (only 1 out of 6 per craft!)…all the rest were toughness and healing stats. Really? Come on, give me something I can work with! It’s so disappointing to get great plans, farm the drops, and have the item totally roll like crap. Over and over and over. I had to go back and fight Malthael like 30 times to get 7 reaper fears, and after 7 reaper’s wrap crafts I finally got a paper doll DPS upgrade over my rare gloves. That’s stupid.

Also, as I’m sure you are figuring out, Blizzard believes everyone had $100,000,000 gold going into RoS. I didn’t, and apparently neither did you. They need to understand that not everyone was rich going into the expansion. Once you start running Torments it gets better obviously, but the mystic and gem costs at that point STILL exceed the income.

Bit of an exaggeration there. For example, my DH’s stone of jordan came with +physical damage on it. I rerolled it a couple times and managed to get 50% crit damage. I wanted fire damage obviously, but I lived with the crit damage for a long time, only rerolling it when I managed to get 3 imperial amethysts. Couple weeks passed, and now I have tons of money, so I rerolled it ~25 times to get fire damage, cost maybe 15 million gold. I didn’t get a perfect fire roll, and I could roll it many more times-- none of my equipment is perfect.

There’s a progression from items that are the wrong stat, to items that are the right stats but poor rolls, to perfect rolls. Each step is increasingly expensive. But you don’t need go down that track until you have the money to do it.

There’s also a gap between HC and SC in terms of money it seems. I have significantly less money on my HC characters than most folks’ comparable SC characters. I suspect this is true across the board.

Thanks to the legendary buff, I was able to get many more pieces of my Marauder’s Set and make use of other pieces of gear I had laying around to build a Frost Arrow/Rapid Fire DH. Sadly still without a kridershot but it’s alright as I’m not finding myself every really low on hatred even without a generator. It obviously doesn’t do as much damage as my CA set, I would say somewhere around 50-70% but a bit hard to figure since I’m running a zoo too so they add to my overall dps. It’s much more survivable as I have more toughness and everything is either slowed or frozen.

Compared to my Fire CA set I was a pure glass canon that would go down pretty easily. While I was hitting for nice big numbers if things didn’t die quickly I was usually in trouble. It’s actually fun being able to use a different build now instead of doing the same old thing as every other DH out there. Now if they could only add in a build/spec switch button you can use in town so I don’t have to spend 5 minutes to change everything up when I want to change specs that would be nice.

…and Torment 1. It took the increased drop rate to finally get the two big ā€œAā€ plans (Aughilds and Ashera, or however they’re spelled) to fall. Big boost to survivability with even modest rolls. Could probably handle T2 if I could get a decent flail to drop. I have a stoopid amount resistances (mostly by accident) all categories at least 800.

Got tired of chucking blessed shields around and switched to the Pound/Bash combo. A bit slower at killing trash mob, much faster killing at single targets and elites. Thematically more pleasing and fun.

Eternally broke. Stoopid gems.

Shield bash is also a great back up travel power! If you go fire, the fire rune is pretty nice as well. Also, the Piro Marella shield makes the build amazing (add in a cindercoat and fire build!)…but you have to get the plans to drop. This past week has been the best for such things. I feel like I got about 12 plans I didn’t have previously.

I wish you could craft for other clan members.
